the shin megami tensei series ain't that great. half of the series is garbage. demikids anyone? yeah, its actually part of the series... Yea Demi Kids was bad but most of the series IMO is great especially if you played the older titles.
It will be a great one to add to my collection, this is the RPG that got me into RPGs and for the longest time, nothing has come close to the awesomeness of this game!

The character designs are kind of lame unless you do like the DBZ character designer work. As for soundtrack and story they're both great compared to the JRPGs that come out now. Also don't worry about a cheesy over dramatic plot that you usually see in some JRPG titles (speaking of Lost Odyssey,the Tales series and FFX). Over all CT is a great game you should try it out if you are a fan of role playing titles.
One thing I will say about Chrono Trigger though. Unlike most past RPGs, Chrono Trigger can still hold its own even now. Even new generation players who never played it could enjoy it. But Square-Enix is still ripping us off. Chrono Trigger should be played by new generation players, so I think they should've at least made the sprites cleaner like Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD so that it can feel brand new while preserving its original integrity. Not only to reach out to new players but also as a treat to their long time fans. By selling a us a port for full price is like spitting on our faces. Unless they sold it us as a $20 game, than it would show they care for their fans. But guess not. They don't care. It upsets me.
Sorry buddy. Chrono Trigger is ONE of the best RPGs ever made. At least in the top 3.
Please play MOTHER 3 (fan translation in english :P), Paper Mario:TTYD, Final Fantasy Vi, Final Fantasy X, Super Mario RPG, Dragon Quest 4, Dragon Quest 9, Earthbound and a lot more that I can't think of right now. But yeah Chrono Trigger is t3h awesome
Eh, I tried playing the SNES one, but eventually stopped playing it. So I don't really know if I should get it. I mean, it's not really the best in my opinion.
Honestly I remember having more fun with Shining Force than I did Chrono Trigger around that time. That said, I can't decide what the best RPG is in my eyes.
Well Chrono Trigger is a great game, but Chrono Cross is great as well. It's between those two for me. I really do not know for sure. All I know is that Chrono Cross is ignored by many because they never even bothered to finish the game. Sad it is.
