im getting a feeling it migth come out next week due to the fact Mario GAlaxy comes out next week, this week they released smb3 and most of the games on there were releasedlast time i checked enix doesnt do vcblingchu55
I really don't think that plays much of a roll. Chrono Trigger may not be their first choice but they will eventually make VC games. They made a custom Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles game for WiiWare; they've gotta have faith in the Wii's downloadable services.

no, but nintendo powere clearly stated "Square Enix has no plans to ever bring any games to the virtual console"
[QUOTE="danathjo"]hello...actraiser anyone?Master_Saibot
Exactly.

Square Enix holds the rights for the Virtual Console edition of the game, so they probably must have worked out a deal with Nintendo on that, contrary to what Nintendo Power has stated.
Yeah, there's Actraiser, but that's not a Square-Enix title, it's an Enix title from 1991.
Enix didn't absorb Square until 2003. So I assume that Square's portion of the company is refusing to release gems like Chrono Trigger on the Virtual Console...(mabye, because I don't know what the hell I'm talking about) If Chrono Trigger were released on the DS, I would pay top dollar for it. That much I do know.
I have a Chrono Trigger tattoo, so obviously I'm hyped about any chance of seeing it on any system other than in my bedroom on the PS1.
I do wonder though considering that Actraiser is post merger Enix title, does that make it any more possible that we may see Dragon Warrior 1, 2, or 3 on the Virtual Console?

No, because Enix merged with Square, the game is wholly owned by Square Enix, along with all other games that Enix has copyright claimant over.
it wouldn't make sence not to bring it to the vc since its an old game on snes for crying out loud.Tokyo90
Isnt that the point of the VC?

did you look at the date and read the article? plus Super Mario RPG is no longer rated so I don't know if its still coming the end of this year http://www.vc-reviews.com/coming_soon.php
We won't see many Square Enix games for the VC because they are only 5-10 dollars a piece. Square Enix is remaking a ton of old games or rereleasing old games (hence a ton of Final Fantasy I and II games, the Final Fantasy IV remake, etc) and have them on a ton a multiple platforms anyways. When square releases these games themselves like someone else already stated they can charge close to full price and make all the money themselves. So I can't see them brining Chrono Trigger cuz eventually they will probably remake it or resell it somewhere else for full price.
I can see Mario RPG coming out one day because those are Nintendo's characters.

Seconded, though I wouldn't say hidden gem. Didn't it sell like 2 million copies?
