My library of games is very narrow. The four "major" games I have (or will have soon) are Monster Hunter Tri, Harvest Moon: ToT, Rune Factory Frontier, and Xenoblade Chronicles.

I want to give MH another chance since I dropped it pretty quickly after getting it and I'll be getting XC this weekend. I was wondering if it would be worth it to get the Classic Controller Pro for those games and any other.

Are there any other "major" games that work BEST with the CCpro? And will playing MH and XC without it hurt the gameplay at all?

Its worth it from a comfort standpoint alone, but its definitely a leg up in monster hunter to have it, the controls are really unusual without it... like, turn the remote this way and press A to attack this way, turn it another way and press A to attack this way, etc.. its just poorly thought out, and hte CCpro makes the camera much easier to manage

I wouldn't play MH3 with anything other than the CCPro, so it's worth the money just for that.

CCPro is the only thing that makes alot of Wii games playable, ive never been a fan of the Wiimote and Nunchuck.

Monster Hunter feels wrong without a traditional controller. The only downside is that you still have to use the connected wiimote to scan monsters, but that's such a small part of the game it never becomes an issue.

Same for me But either way I believe Monster Hunter and Xenoblade would be much better with it

Definitely better than the original one. It's way more comfortable to hold for an extended period of time. Otherwise, it's not much different.

Xenoblade is worth getting a Classic Controller for, the Wiimote controls are clunky.

I bought it for the sole purpose of MH3 - actually it was bundled come to think of it - but I highly recommend having the CCpro for it. Its also really nice to have anytime you require the standard classic controller as it just feels more comfortable and more legit - i find with the standard classic controller the buttons seem cheaper if that makes any sense.

How far did you make it into MH may I ask.

MH3 is certainly playable with the wiimote/nunchuck, but honestly the CCPro makes it so much better. it's worth it just for that game

It's perfect for Monster Hunter and Xenoblade. Those two games alone warrant its purchase.

Yes, get it. It was the main reason I got the Monster Hunter Tri: Ultimate Hunter Pack. It came with the CCPro and Wii Speak, and from previous experience with Monster Hunter I knew it was going to be a million times easier with it.

If you like the control scheme better than yes. I personally don't like the analog stick arrangement on it though, so I'm happy using the remote+nunchuck combo whichI think feels more comfortable. To me the Gamecube/Xbox arrangement is much better than the PS2 and classic one, the sticks are just too close together which, and I have smaller hands. Only time I really use my classic controller (just have the original) is for SNES and NES games when the sticks aren't required.

I got it for Monster Hunter Tri, enjoyed it on games that support it (and in which it's better than the WiiMote + Nunchuk), and I'd probably have to buy it now if I hadn't before -- I just stockpiled on VC and Wiiware games for the holiday, and pretty much every VC game that's from the SNES or a newer console requires the CC. Monster Hunter Tri is, alone, enough reason to get the controller - the fact that you have Xenoblade further justifies your purchase (you can't turn your perspective while you're running if you're using the WiiMote, since you need to press c and use the analog stick).

I like the original Classic Controller for 2D games VC, and a bunch of Wii games as well, but there are some games like Goldeneye or Monster Hunter 3 where the Classic Controller Pro almost feels necessary.
