I will be shocked and mad if it is. I am guessing $250, although I think it would be smart of Nintendo to price it closer to $199.99 if possible.
I don't believe it, but what if it was 300 USD?
I'd personally not buy it, until it was much lower. 250 is the ceiling for me and I already don't like that.
If it ends up 300, somehow, or 270 or 280, I sincerely hope consumers and gamers have the spines to reject that price point by not caving and buying the console for being the latest and greatest gadget. I mean if they want all the launch titles, thats cool but lets face it, its a launch. More than likely all of us will at most have 4 or 5 games worth buying at launch. And then wait months for another title
Whoao man i prefer a lot buy another xbox 360
I dont think soo that is going to be 300 bucks maybe 250$
but nintendo is passing for a crisis in their products so they really need to seell and earn.

My guess is $199 simply because Nintendo has been slowly reducing the price on the DSi and DSi XL. If they planned to sell the 3DS for $250 then there would be no reason to reduce the XL price from its original $189 price tag because $169, $189, and $250 is a nice price separation for the three systems, but now with price reductions, you'd have the spread of $149, $169, and $199.
If it's over $250 I'll just buy the best 3rd party games at launch (to support the developers) and wait until a price drop or a revision. Paying anything over that price for a bulky handheld that will be graphically outdone by every smartphone a year from now is just not worth it to me.
I will definitely buy a 3DS one day, but a lot of Nintendo's decisions have made me quite skeptical about the system's immediate success.
I agree with you I think 199.99 will be a fair price, its just upsetting that I have to pay so much money for a new system thats smaller than my ps3 lol.I will be shocked and mad if it is. I am guessing $250, although I think it would be smart of Nintendo to price it closer to $199.99 if possible.

Yeah, I feel somewhat the same. If it is $250, OK, but over that, hmmm not so sure.I wont buy it if it is that expensive, i wont go over $250.

Oh, did I miss something? I didn't know they were CNNintendo. I thought they were just another news company thats reporting on something that hasn't happened yet. News networks do it all the time. BBC reported the collapse of the World Trade Center7 on 9/11 over twenty minutes before it happened(don't believe me? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ltP2t9nq9fI). Anyway, until Nintendo says so, no one outside of Nintendo will know the official launch price for North America.
There goes the news trying to predict the price, luckly, they are very likely to be wrong, but sadly, many people believe or misunderstand the news. So Im hoping that when Nintendo of America announces the price, that they really stress the price, stress it in such a way that the people who have foolishly believed that the price is $300 will realize that they have nothing to fear.

Don't kid yourself. This thing is going to be in such high demand that anybody who doesn't preorder is likely going to have to wait weeks or months before they can get their hands one.
so 250 for me , if tha ts the right price sincei dropped 50 today on it , first one that has a preorder at my local store yeah

Don't kid yourself. Sure it will sell well for the first few months maybe, but all launch consoles have a rough first year. Even the DS did
Also, a $250 or $300 price will hurt it.

The Wii didn't. Also, the 3DS is essentially a proven platform being built on the already successful Nintendo DS, so it's unlikely it will experience the first year growing pains.

Not as much as you might think.
I will put my money on: UK - £199.99 EU - €229.99 US - $249.99 I also think they'll add incentive to early adopters such as a bundled game and/or 3DSWare points.

There are rumors that there will be a Zelda bundle, but I think 3DSWare points is more likely because it will cost Nintendo virtually nothing extra.

No that price will hurt it, even the DS didn't take off until the Lite came.No that price will hurt it, even the DS didn't take off until the Lite came. darth-pyschosis
It could in theory but most likely won't in reality, at least not to any significant extent. For every one person saying they won't buy it at that price, there are probably ten more lining up with money in hand.
There are so many rumors about the price, thankgod there are only 15 days left before the real price is announced.
But... I cant wait that long!

Maybe they'll bundle it with that submarine game they've been working on for a few years... I don't think it'll have a Zelda bundle, that'll be too good to be true. Besides, they should spend several years on a game that no one particularly cares for as a bundle... that way, they can show all the cool stuff the system can do!why thing's cheaper in us? us's much more distant from chinavito1989
Ironically, it's because the US dollar is weaker at the moment. If prices were based on straight currency conversion rates then products could be perceived as too expensive and may not sell as well.
if it does end up costing $300 they'd better include a lot of stuff out of the box, like earphone nubs, cleaning cloth, SD card, and a few free VC downloads and include a game. We do know they are including some augmented reality stuff with it. If all that is out of box i'd pay 300 bucks for it, but not just a bare bones handheld system.

well according to thishttp://www.nintendo.co.jp/3ds/hardware/spec/index.html it will not include everything i had listed but as follows:
so it comes with the charger stand and AC adapter so u can plug it in and play with its supposed 3-5 hr battery life while playing 3DS games and a few extra on DS games.
