Hey all,

I currently have a polar white DS Lite and I really like it. I been looking into the cobalt DS and it looks pretty cool too. I'm thinking of getting the cobalt DS and giving my old DS to my brother so that we can play games like Mario Bros and stuff where you can use one card and play against each other. (There are a few games he wants for DS, but doesn't game enough to want to buy one himself)

So my questions:

1. Does the cobalt look good? I've never been able to see one, other than on the box. It looks cool, but it is hard to tell.

2. Are there any problems with the system? I know there was a lot of talk that it may have the same problems as some of the other models. I'm just trying to figure out if I would be better off getting another polar white.

3. Are there very many games that two people can play with one card?

Thanks!

1.) Yes, it looks very good. The blue is a very deep blue... and sparkly. :)

2.) I haven't encoutered any problems, but then again, I've only owned it for about a month.

3.) Here is a pretty good list: http://www.brittlefish.com/2005/08/29/ds-wireless-roundup/ (look for titles that state "Single Pak Multiplayer" )

Sounds good. Now I just need to figure out some things to sell to make this purchase a "reasonable" one.

I was thinking of selling some old gameboys and games that I don't use anymore, and haven't for year. I've got an extra playstation too, but looking on eBay it seems that would be a waste of time to sell, I watched one sell (with games) for five bucks!

Anyhow, thanks for the info, I definitely think I will be adding cobalt to my collection soon!!

I got the Cobalt DS at launch, and i had ordered it from gamestop.com however the bottom touch screen was misaligned with the actual DS, i blame the packaging though as it was just freely bouncing arond in the packaging box, so i exchanged it at gamestop store and now i have a flawless one, and it looks amzing, i love the deep blue color, as far as onlien games with one cart i'm not sure as i'm stil building a library of games. But it is a great system.

From what I have been reading, the screen may not have been caused by the shipping. It seems quite a few people have had the same problem, but I don't think the cobalt was the only system with this issue.

I think I heard that the cobalt black might have a slightly yellow touch screen. But that's just what I've heard.

It plays the same so it really shouldn't matter, but it does help that you're at least not selling you're old Lite but instead giving it to your brother. It should work the same as the others though, the only thing that should be different is the paint job

Okay, so my only question now, is what is the best way to sell my old stuff to buy a new game?

I'm thinking of selling everything from my old NES, including controllers and all games. At least one, possibly two, gameboys, and then at least one game I never play. And then probably my first playstation... I guess I could sell my gamecube too, since I've got the wii, but not sure if I want to get rid of something that recent.

From what I'm reading, gamespot is kind of pointless as they don't give much money, but they probably wouldn't buy these games anyway. With eBay, I'm not sure what I have will bring any money in, and with all the listing fees and stuff, I may be spending more than I make... Is there anything I'm not thinking of, or would I be better off keeping what I have... I don't play any of the systems/game I would sell.

Anyhow, I appreciate your info!

Yeah, it may, like my onyx/black one, but as soon as you turn the games on and start playing, the yellow tint doesnt really show up. Its only when you are loking at the start-up DS screens and home page of the ds do you see a yellowish liek tint.I dont think its that bad anyway, but esp after the games start playing, you dont even notice it.

It is the most beautiful color scheme in my opinion, although before this one came out i was holding out for the ice blue US release like the ones in asia (japan) but this one is even better in my opinion, and if there is a yellow tint I don't notice it. I'm actually at work right now using it as an MP3 player, lol.. i love this game n music thing. Now to start getting some games. Also where are these download stations at? so i can get some demos at least.

I like the colour sceme, but be prepared to wipe it clean everytime you use it. Even if you just wash your hands you will leave an insane amount of smudging. Scratches also show up easily on the glossy blue painted part. It works well, but one thing I notice is when I wipe the touchscreen it makes a creaking noise, like as if it isn't quite installed properly. It works fine and doesn't make noise when I'm gaming.

It does smudge but not quite as bad as my black PSP and i'm assuming black DS lite, although when i wipe it off i don't ehar the creaking sounds.

Thanks Joey, the pics look great. It is a lot deeper blue than I thought. So it is almost like having the black DS, with an extra perk. In my opinion it is one of the best color schemes too.

As far as smudging and things, I usually keep a soft towel with me so I can wipe it off, they tend to drive me crazy on any system.

Actually, one of the reasons I am wanting to get a new DS is I discovered a crack on mine the other day. I've never noticed it before, so I am assuming it is newer, and now it is all I can see. It is on the part of the screen that moves when you open/close the DS. I don't have any idea how it got there, I'm the only one that uses, it has never been dropped, even just a little, I handle if very carefully, it is always in a case when not in use, etc. Even if it were dropped or something, the crack just doesn't look like something that would happen in such an area and the way it looks... I'm a bit of a perfectionist, so it might sound crazy, but it drives me nuts.

Anyhow, I plan to buy it no matter what, I have the money for it, that isn't a concern, I just wanted to try and make is a reasonable purchase by selling some of my old stuff (I told myself I wouldn't spend as much on gaming this year :P )

Thanks again for all your help!
