Hi, I'm not really asking for a recommedation but would like to know why Diamond is so rare to find compared to Pearl (this may be exclusive to my location or country but I'm asking anyway). So, is there really a big difference between both versions? or is it like Nintendog where you can unlock all the races but start with some specific to the version? I'm really willing to enter the Pokemon realm (well, actually I'm being driven by my daughter, but I'm too interested). So please, let me know your thoughts. Regards

Really, the only difference between them is that each version has some exclusive Pokemon. The story and features are all the same, and they both have tons of 'base' Pokemon. Each version has maybe 20 or so Pokemon that you can only get on that version (you have to trade to get the ones that aren't on your version), but overall it doesn't really make that big of difference. Also, whatever legendary Pokemon is on the front cover (Diamond = Dialga, Pearl = Palkia) is the one you get towards the end of the game. You can get the other one, but basically not until the end of the game.

Practically the same, I am guessing the reason Diamond is harder to find is because people like the name more.

Each version has a few different Pokemon then the other. Other than that the games are the same. I chose "Pokemon Diamond" because I like diamonds better than pearls. LOL. And the legendary Pokemon controls times.

Probably because small boys, who are the main demographic, don't want the pink, "girly" Pearl. There are pretty much no differences between them. The biggest one is that of the version-exclusive Pokemon, and you can get all of those the other one by WFC anyway, so it doesn't matter which one you choose. If you ask me, buy the one you think has the nicest boxart - in the end, that'll be the only difference.

The differences between the 2 games isn't major. People just buy Diamond more than Pearl for an obvious reason: every generation of Pokemon games, the one that its name came first always sold better. Red, Gold, Ruby, and now Diamond.
