So I rented Prince of Persia for the Wii a few days ago and, fun though it was, I had to run to the bathroom every couple of minutes to throw up because the graphics are so awful. I realize that with games like that, Component cables aren't going to make a huge difference but for games that will look alright (SSBB,SMG, and RE:UC) will the component cables make enough of a difference to be worth the investment? I have a 42 inch 720 or something like that TV so thats partly why Wii graphics hurt me so deeply.

And am I the only one who is alienated by the Wii's insistance on wireless internet? I haven't got a wireless connection in my house so now, the system that is purportedly uber userfriendly just forced me to fork out 30 bucks for internet

I have the component cables, and for Resident Evil 4 it made a big difference. Overall, the colors look better in every game. The only downside I saw, was in Wii Sports, the graphics look a lot more crisp to the point where you see the jagged edges more.

In my opinion, it's worth it.

it does make everything look that much sharper and that much better. i was just playing re4 and it made it seem so much closer to next-gen graphics even though they arent.

in short: yes, get component cables if you can.

and in response to your internet problem: atleast you can now get internet on it. i already had a good wireless home network but the wii wont pick up the signals no matter what.

Yes, get Component cables. They're pretty cheap too. I bought mine from penguinunited.com . Wii isn't really optimized for HD, and the jaggies are sometimes unbearable, but definitely go component if your TV supports it.

Is the tv progressive scan? Truthfully, you can do fine without progressive scan, but if the tv is progressive and you got the component cables, then, you are cheating yourself out of better picture by not using the progressive scan setting. But don't.......I repeat DON'T change the Wii over to progressive scan unless you know for sure the TV supports progressive scan! You'll be sorry if you do!

component cables may make it look more crisp and fresh but is it worth forking out how every much money it is and to inconvinence yourself to get an hd tv or move your wii to another location in your house hole and about the internet connection i found that i cant get any interent connection at all and after a while my computer said that the nintendo wi fi connector mal functioned. whats the deal?
