While I know that many people are quite skeptical about the conduit, saying that it does not look nearly as good graphically or in gameplay as it is being hyped to be, I personally am very excited for this game. I feel that High Voltage is putting a LOT of effort into this project and that alone is worth a purchase, so that we as consumers can encourage developers to work hard to provide high quality games for the gaming community, and especially the more hardcore crowd that owns a Wii.

That said, it seems that there has been no new information on the game since the announcement of SEGA being the publisher. I assume that this is the work of SEGA keeping it all hush hush. But has anyone heard anything recently, any videos, interviews, etc, since then? Any other general discussion on the game is welcome too. :)

It's because they already gave us more than enough information. Any more, and we'll basically know the whole story. They have to keep some things a surprise.

What else could you want from them?

Doesn't the game come out in march? -- so really wanting more information is kind of pointless.

The last video that I saw come out was the awards video that came out post-E3. Like you said - not much info since then. And I am totally psyched for the game. I think it looks more and more fantastic all the time, and I'm practically peeing myself now that the release date is within reach. My main concern is that the premise *does* look somewhat generic. That doesn't mean that the game won't be great, that the gameplay itself won't be perfect...but a lot of the sequences I've watched smack heavily of campy, cheesy, Area 51-style shooters. FBI agents and aliens don't make for very gripping enemies. But who knows? Maybe that will shape up to be a lot better than it appears it will be. Either way, Wii owners really need to buy this game simply out of principle. If we don't support Sega in picking up a title like this, how will future publishers be convinced that mature titles can make it on the Wii? Sega is making a push with games like The Conduit and MadWorld, and we gamers need to support them.

No. A solid date hasn't been announced but it's currently slated for Q2, so April at the earliest.

There's a difference between being excited about a game, and wanting to know absolutely everything about a game. There is no need to know more about the game than we already do.

I do not necessarily want more ABOUT the game. However, interviews and progress reports are always great things to see in my opinion. For example, we already know that there will be online play, and I saw an interview on IGN a while back where they discussed how it was playing. They mentioned running 16 players (i think, maybe 12) over a LAN network in their offices and that it ran great. THOSE are the kinds of things that I am surprised about not coming out. Of course I do not want some sort of walkthrough of every level or anything, but HV was very bigabout giving progress reports out, and I would love to hear more about howit is coming along.

I never said you can't discuss it. I said that HV has released everything they need to release about the game for you to get excited about it. Talk about it all you want. And to answer the TC's question, SEGA probably told them to keep their mouths shut. That's how publishers are.

I agree with you here on the enemies and premise. That is honestly the one thing that does scare me abit about the game is that it will come off as boring because of these "issues." I hope that things like the All-seeing eye dont come off as chessy too. But ultimately, this gameis going to set a precident for FPS on Wii, and for the level of work that should go into a game on Wii, rather than shovelware that is chucked together in a few months. This game and Madworld deserve support for sure, as did No More Heroes, because these games are solid efforts to expand the Wii BACK to the hardcore since the focus has shifted so much to the casual side.

It will release in Q2, they are probably adding polish to the game and refining it. They won't give much more information. Also, since Sega is publishing the game, the information has to go through them first so there is less. I really do not need to say anything else, unless they want to surprise us with an announcement for splitscreen multiplayer :o

Exactly -- Sega doesn't want people to tire of the game before it's released. Silence can build anticipation as well.

I'm always amazed how often that happens! Whenever something exciting starts happening, everyone gets modded away or yelled at for discussing it. I've never understood... :-/

Given that there's a level walk through on IGN from October you've got to think they're just optimising things to work as smoothly as possible, amending the difficulty levels etc etc.

keep info tight makes the hype bigger (coughtwilightprincesscough) every now and then, until the release, they'll release small bits of new info. close to the release, they'll just throw most of it in our faces and, if we werent talking about the wii, we'd get a demo. its always like that, because it works

I saw a tech demo and some trailers recently but i think those came out around E3. The newest thing released is probably the Online with Wii Speak and the release date.:(
