From Nintendo.com, Wii technical spec:

"The Wii console communicates wirelessly with the Internet via wireless or a Wii LAN adaptor. Wii also can connect wirelessly with Nintendo DS."

How do you connect DS with Wii and how is this feature supported today?

Not yet, I think Pokemon BR is the first game to support his feature, wherein you can catch, train and build your squad in Pokemon D/P on the DS and transfer them via Wi-fi to your Wii and upload them onto Pokemon BR and take your squad on-line.

It'll probably only really ever be Pokemon that uses this feature.

What about the download-service then? Nintendo already announced that you will be able to download demo's for your DS via your Wii. I believe that things like a rear view mirror in Mario Kart are coming too...

Yeah there was rumour that demo's could be downloaded....but to be honest I don't think it'll happen, how would a rear view mirror work though? You'd need to sit it above the T.V, but mine's wafer thin! I don't think it's something that's essential in Mario Kart, I don't care who's behind me as long as I'm in front :P

But the idea is cool, I need an excuse to use my DS more I've given up on handheld gaming which is a shame.

It would be cool if they made a "DS Player" that attached to the Wii and allowed you to play DS games on the TV like GameCube did with the GB Player.
