Everytime I see one at gamestop or target I think about getting one, but I'm still undecided if its worth it.

For those wondering what I'm talking about, there are cooling stations for the Wii that work ust like the regular stand that comes with the Wii, but it also has a fan in it to increase the air flow blowing through the Wii. There are also fans that you can attach on the back of the Wii.

Anyone use these? Are they worth the cash? I'm curious, because my Wii seems to run pretty hot all the time.

I would say I wouldn't risk it. As long as it's in a decently well ventilated area, you shouldn't have to spend the money. I haven't heard much about cooling fans for the Wii, but a friend of mine had one for his 360 and it fried both the USB port and the system altogether.

i have the gamestop one, i like it a lot. Mostly i just bought it for the blue light but it does cool down the Wii and it isnt loud. I'd say it was worth the price.

Waste of money from a company trying to steal the cash out of your pocket by making you scared and not listening to reason.

My dad always tells me to let products cool themselves the way they were meant to. He's into those things so, i don't know but i learned to listen to him when it comes to these subjects.

To the guy who's Wii runs hot all the time, make sure when you turn it off, you hold down the power button until it turns red, not orange. If it stays on orange, it will stay hot. But if you go to red, it cools down and completely shuts down. You actually have to mash it with your hand because my controller will only shut it down and make the button orange, not red. Try that and see if it cools down.

When you have Wii 24connect on the light is orange, when you turn it off. Mine has been on 24connect for months, and when in that mode the system is as cool as when it is off.

Unless you block the vents, or your room is 90F,your Wii should never overheat.

Exactly. All those items are pulling more power from the Wii. That sounds more dangerous than running a few degrees cooler.
