The 2010 year looks pretty strong for the Wii. For 2010, games like No More Heroes 2, Redsteel 2, Monster Hunter Tri, Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, and Sin and Punishment 2 are already confirmed being in 2010. Also The Grinder and Gladiator A.D are planned to hit Fall 2010 also, and possible Nintendo Giants like Metroid: Other M, Mario Galaxy 2 and the new Zelda Wiiare in question to release2010. Also unconfirmed commonNintendofranchises like Starfox and Donkey Kongcould hit the platform. Some possible ports like RE5, GTA IVor Street Fighter 4 could hit the console due to the large want. Alsosome accesories and updates could help the Wii a lot like the balance board, motion +, wii speak and the new full DLC content using SDHC card streamingwill definetlyhelp the Wii.I'm sure there will be many other surprises and who else wants a new Skate or Skate it on Wii? I think this could be the Wii's mostdominant years.

as a ps2 gamer that will eventually upgrade to the wii due to hatred of dlc and online gamers i agree that the wii will have a good year. i think you are counting too much on ports becuase those usually don't turn out well ala dead rising or call of duty waw. don't forget arc rise fantasia, fragile and a possible pikmin 3.

I think you're setting some of your expectations too high, but I do think 2010 can give 2007 a run for its money when it comes to being the Wii's best year. For me, it begins with the fact that Nintendo's bringing out Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Metroid Other M, the former being a sure-fire hit and the latter having a very promising collaboration behind with between Nintendo and Team Ninja. To compliment that, the Wii is getting a few popular third party releases this year and the library of games looks like it's going to be well-rounded in terms of genre and appeal. This should also be the year where MotionPlus really starts to show its promise, and hopefully, we'll see more games make great use of the accessory (it helps when games like Red Steel 2 are supporting it).

Long story short, I'm far more optimistic about 2010 than I ever was about this year. The Wii looks like it's going to have some games that'll be impossible to ignore, and we can only hope that this year is focused more on truly delivering top-notch content, as opposed to worrying about what sells and who to sell what to. I have my fingers crossed. :)

i just want a new zelda, super mario galazy 2, a new donkey kong adventure game and a new star fox game.. maybe throw in a kirby wii game or a brand new kid icarus adventure/platformer.

then 2010 will be an amazing year if even half of those come out next year.

but dang how i miss donkey kong and starfox.. they still havent had their own wii game yet.. and that last donkey kong barrel blast looked pretty lame imo

It certainly looks like the best year in regards to 3rd party support, of course alot of that has to do with a number of games dropping from this year, but all the same it seems to denser high quality offer than previous years. ^not every so called hardcore game is going to sale, if I make a crappy game and call hardcore people still aren't going to buy it. But even good games don't always move that well, especially if the publisher does nothing to create demand.

I doubt it. 2009 has been pretty lame... the only game I bought this year was Dead Space Extraction. The only other games worth checking out from this year are MadWorld, New Super Mario Bros. and Silent Hill... Everything else is pretty dumb shovelware.

around the end of a year, we usually look at the upcoming year and say "whoa... this is going to be awesome, where will i get so much money?" and end up disappointed due to overhype and too many releases at once, which means skipping some great titles. but then again, as time passes, a console's yearly lineup tend to improve, and 2010 does look promising.

It's no doubt that 2009 wasn't bad. I missed out on a lot of good games for the Wii.

but I think 2010 could be a better year.

Zelda 2010 alone will be reason enough to make it the Wii's best year.

Red Steel 2, Monster Hunter Tri, Fragile, just to name a few that were suppose to have been out this year and fell into next year. 2009 lineups on all consoles suffered due to delays. But 2009 had alot of good games that people just didn't adopt, doesn't mean they didn't exist.

I think you're relying on assumption too much here, especially with the second part, which probably won't happen... But other than that, I agree that next year looks great so far. Hopefully they can keep it up the whole year.

Q1 and Q4 of 2010 look good (assuming that SMG2 and M:OM come out in Q4). But what about all that space in between?

If Metroid, Mario, and Zelda all come it would be a solid year but Zelda will be 2011 almost for sure, and Mario will just be a remake of the first Galaxy which I enjoyed but it was way to easy they held your hand through the whole thing. They took away all the adventure of searching for the stars. Metroid does look promising just hoping it is not just an action game though.

i think 2008 was the best year. mario kart, brawl, and galaxy(had just come out 2months earlier)

2009 was decent i guess.

if 2010 has metroid, galaxy, zelda it will be equal but...needs some multiplayer to stay fresh..

I'm not looking forward to Red Steel 2, it doesnt seem deep enough. However, I've recently purchased a Japanese copy of Monster Hunter Tri and its great! Im also looking forward to a few JRPGs.

I reckon it goes: 2007 >>>2008= 2009 > 2006.

But yes, 2010 looks the best in line-up. I've played Red Steel 2, and while I'm not sold on it yet, I still have high hopes. But NMH2 could well be GOTY.

Monster Hunter 3, Metroid Other M, Super Mario Galaxy 2, and Red Steel 2 will all make me very happy. With the possibility of Zelda and Pikmin 3 coming too 2010 could be epic. If RE5 would be announced for Wii with all the options of the original I'd crap my pants out of happiness.

I doubt half of those games you mentioned will be coming to the Wii this year (or at all). And if the ports do then they'll probably degrade in quality in one way or another. I'm not saying 2010 won't be a good year for the Wii, but none of those games seem compelling enough for me to buy.

Galaxy 2, Metroid Other M, Zelda, Monster Hunter 3, and Red Steel 2 don't look or sound compelling enough to buy... I know everyone has different taste in games but talk about having double standards towards Wii games...

Yup. Nintendo is bringing out a lot of big games in 2010 like NMH 2, Tatsunoko vs. Capcom:Ultimate All-Stars, and of course Mario Galaxy 2. I might check out Sin and Punishment 2 and Monster Hunter Tri.

Don't think so.

There are only 6 games that I am looking forward to next year.

One, the Grinder, is a game made by HVS, so decent chance for dissapointment.

Another, Zelda Wii, may not even come out in 2010.

Does anyone have a feeling that, due to the sales of "hardcore" games on the Wii, 2010/early 2011 could be the Wii's best and maybe last time third-party devs make a great Wii game? Imean with games like Red Steel 2, The Grinder, No More Heroes 2, etc. being supposedly high-quality third-party hardcore games, if these games don't sell well, do you think that will be it?

Also, does anyone know how well games like RE: Darkside Chronicles, SH: Shattered Memories, Cursed Mountain, MW: Ref;ex(or any other recentthird-party "hardcore" game I forgot about) sold? action1234
hmmmm, well yes, next year sales will determine the future(or the remaining time for the wii).If that bunch of hardcore titles sell. I think that, due to this year efforts and last ones too, the mature wii owners market has increased if just a bit ,which helps.I reffer to Madworld, NMH1 , Muramasa and so forth. Those games alone, selling just chunks of nearly half millions each, together bring more choices and appeal for core owners to try and own a wii. While cursed mountain did pretty bleak, Darkside Chronicles is selling properly. And certainly, Modern warfare is selling pretty good, 300k in a month, is a pretty damm solid start(an start The conduit envies painfully). What is more, sales of Modern warfare are rising instead of diminishing. Every week is selling more copies that the game sold the previous one(it sold 20k-then next week 50k-last week 70k) I think is hugely due to word of mouth. Activision, curiously, decided(probably because of healthy sales), to promote the game online further, and is posting the 9.0 scores of some reviewers at it. I dont have doubts in the sales of most of those games, No more heroes 2 has a very guaranteed sale.its a niche title, but every single wii niche owner is camping this title already. Red steel 2? depends entirely on promotion.Red steel sold over a million, but dissapointed many. Ubisoft needs to show this game is not like that. yes, its gonna be an exciting and crucial year for the remainder of wii lifespan, before next Ninty console.
