It's really annoying when I read a summary on a new game in development and the developers are like "we made the game simple so anyone can pick up the wiimote and play." I hate how a complex action is replaced with shaking the wiimote. There are a few games that will be challenging but most have been dumbed down to fit the "casual gamers" style of play. It's making me mad how the Wii is forgeting about all the gamers who got Nintendo this far and just focusing on the newbies. *rant over*

Zack & Wiki might be your answer. According to IGN, it's the most difficult game on Wii.

I don't care because if Nintendo forgets about us I'll forget about them and buy a 360

I belive much more challenging games will come out now that devs are starting to develop games specifically for the Wii. The quick games, and ports that have been dumbed down for the casual consumer are probaly coming to an end. and for those who keep saying Nintendo is forgetting this and that. Its not nintendo, they arent dumbing down thier games. it 3rd party devs and Nintendo cant tell them how to develop thier games.

Its not about the controls, its about the game design. Zelda had great controls, but the boss fights were insanely easy because of game design decisions. For instance, when fighting Fyrus, there's an entire part of the arena where he can't even hit you. This is the same with Super Paper Mario, each boss or enemy is very simplistic and easy to defeat. Hopefully Metroid gives more of a challenge when released.

There seems to have been a trend towards making games easier. What is considered hard nowadays, would have been considered normal, or easy twenty years ago. Part of this probably has to do with the rising cost of videogame development.

sadly it's against culture for things to be diffecult to do

we need to get rid of gamespot and the likes if we actually want games to become diffecult again... have you not noticed that GS put in "game is frustrating" and give it a really low score if it's diffecult, and sadly if it is diffecult and on the xbox 360 it's put down as "great diffecultly level, keeps interest"

Lets first ask for good games, then for hard ones. One step at a time people.

But if we might actual get some online games here, we might finally get some challenging opponents. Unfortunatly for me I don't like Pokemon or soccer, so there arent any online Wii games I'm at all interested thats coming soon.

I think your criticism of gamespot is a little unfair. Frustrating is different from difficult. GS usually makes a distinction between games that are hard due to crummy design, versus games that are just hard. I haven't noticed them disparaging well done, but hard, games. They come down hard on games that are needlessly hard, such as ones with lousy controls, and that seems fair to me.
