Even though, Nintendo charges cheaper than other companies, $50 per game is still expensive. There are a lot of games which are interesting, but worth $50? No. There are interesting games, but they have no multiplayer and it leaves no room for creation or exploration. Games like that should be 20-30 dollars. Not full price. Games like Smash Bros. Brawl, I would pay $50 dollars on. But games like Metroid : Corruption and it's campaign ONLY feel, I wouldn't. drekula
You could very easily say the same thing about any number of arbitrarily chosen XBox 360 and PS3 games and their $60 price tags. Hey, you could have said that about games on the PS2, Gamecube, Dreamcast, NES, or any other system ever released. The fact is these games get priced this way because people are willing to pay that much for them.
As for Metroid Prime 3, $50 is fine with me for a game that I plan on playing through at least five times.
50 bucks isnt that bad... 20 years ago games were $50. $50 was a lot more money back then. If you dont want to pay the full price then wait 6-12 months for it to go down.ag1052Not to mention its was only 8 bit and not many games were good. 20 years ago zelda and metroid came out though. Dude, Metroid is gonna be full of exploration if you've forgotten, and I don't mind paying $50 for it. And here in canada, its probably gonna be more expensive cause its supposedly costs extra $10 per game to get it across the border. Even though both can and USA dollars are almost equal now.
Am I the only one that wishes I didn't pay as much money? Are you guys just plane stupid? The content of Nintendo games are still last gen. They shoulden't be charging next-gen prices...RelysIts plain stupid not plane stupid and if anything is plain stupid its your post... they arent charging the prices of the other nextgen systems, they are charging the same price that last gen games were.
Yeah, the minigame compilations shouldn't be full price.
I'm not getting rayman for $50.
At lest prices have dropped over the years. I remember games on the snes costing $80.

Dam straight Mini compilations shouldn't be full price, unless they have like 200 minigames not mirco, and yeah try and tell me Excitebike was worth $50, back then it was so just be happy how big games are today and about your comment on MP3 it's worth every penny and I live i AUS so it will be $100 AUS and I'll still wont it on Launch because that Single will be great and probably 25-30 hrs long. And if you think MP3 is a rip what about Bioshock?

Maybe if you post without bashing people would take you more seriously and wouldn't report you. :|
Like someone said above, games were $50 back in the NES era... games should really be $100 now if the normalrules ofinflation were implemented.
Looks like gaming is more of a bargain than ever before... at least for Wii owners.

Games actually cost $60 on the NES. It wasn't until CDs became the standard format in the days of the Saturn and Playstation that games dropped to $50. So not only have games not gone up in price with inflation, they've actually dropped since the early '90s.
I know how to save you some money... wait a few mounts for prices to drop... or just don't play games... I think 49.99 is a fare price for games... 59.99 is another story... the only 360 game worth that price was oblivion... but that just due to the amount of content in this game.... I also have not paid full price for any 360 game other then oblivion... it's just not worth it to me...
Going to the movies costs at least $10.00, and only gives you 2-3 hours of entertainment. Going out drinking (assuming you're old enough), you can spend $30.00 or more, and get 1 good night out of it. Going to a major league Baseball/Basketball/Hockey/Football game can cost $50.00 (at least $100.00 for good seats...and I'm not including food/drinks etc.), and you get a few hours of enjoyment. Video games cost $50.00, and, depending on the game, can give you anywhere between 30-80 hours of gameplay. Do the math, it's not a bad deal.
Stop complaining. Videogame companies spend millions on making a game, it wouldn't make sense to charge us less.

Although I do agree that some "interesting" lower-depth games are DEFINITELY not worth 50, but 20-30. That's why I only buy the big AAA titles at 50, which is Brawl, Galaxy, and Prime 3( Prime is definitely worth 50, If you ever played a Metroid game before you know its a single-player game only, that part is amazing, and the mutliplayer is crap, Prime 2's and Hunters were pretty crappy)
But interesting "idea" games like NiGHTS, Umbrella Chronicles, Rayman, Dewy, Zack and Wiki, etc. I would never buy at full value for fear of not liking it, so that's when I wait until it's used at Gamestop for 20-30.
Be gratefull you get games for that price. Over here in England wii games are around £40
and with two dollars to the pound you do the math :|

Exactly lol, no American has the right to complain about the price of anything; petrol/gas, electronic goods, property etc. it's all much cheaper in the states. And worst of all... they still sell Lucky charms over there!!
