Tip: Don't trust ONM's reviews of Nintendo games. They are EXTREMELY Bias.
Their third party game reviews are very reliable though.
I too hope this game comes to the States.
I don't understand why Nintendo didn't have it here for Xmas, all they would have to do is change some text for the controls, and take the subtitles out and it's a done deal.
no sense what so ever

I would have to agree. They tend to swing the scores and hype up. However, this game does seem to be lining up for some 7-8 scores across the board.

Agreed, ONM reviews are very biased but I think Disaster: DoC may actually be worthy of the praise, Famitsu and a few other publications have given it decent reviews so far, but I suppose we can only judge for ourselves when the game is actually released.

D:DoC is second party no?
Anyway, even if the review is a little inflated, a good review is always a good sign. I'm looking forward to it.

No, Nintendo owns the developer.

I really hope that Nintendo smartens up and gives us a North American release date. Even if the game's cheesy as hell, from everything I've seen it still sounds fun.
The review looks biased because obviously they reviewed the game without thinking of MGS4, GTA4, Halo3, Dead Space, etc. because they judge it based only on the Wii Library. me, im still waiting for the IGN UK review. even though i keep on hearing positive reviews, still i cant play the game... how sadkrayziecupid
What have those games in common with Disaster? Or with each other for what matters...
I don't see why they should compare it with 4 games that are completely different genres on completely different platforms.
Besides it would be like comparing a NES game with a N64 game in terms of graphics (if that's what you're talking about). One must take into consderation the hardware capabilities while reviewing a game.

No. It's second party. Nintendo doesn't fully own the developer.

Then why do some great Wii games scored lower on gamespot, IGN and other non official Nintendo reviews? because they are judging it based on the Generation of consoles. Sad but true, an example, on gamespot have you seen the force unleashed review on different consoles? most of the HD games have great score because of the Graphics(try to read again the synopsis of each game review on the PS3 and 360 you will notice that most of the time they acknowledge the Graphics. if you see the gameplay of DoC it is quite similar on the games i mentioned earlier, it is on third person etc.

It is on third person etc.???????????????????
What exactly have those games in common? One of them isn't even seen in third person (Halo).
Metal Gear Solid 4 - Cinematic War Stealth.
Dead Space - Space Survival Horror.
Halo 3 - Sci-fi FPS.
GTAIV - Sandbox Crime Simulation.
Disaster looks nothing like any of them from what I understand.
Also going by your logic World of Goo should be scoring awful on most sites, well actually it's getting all 9s and above.
Graphics are not everything. Haze and Lair have great HD shiny graphics but crappy, crappy gameplay.

did you read the "quite similar" words on my post? i dont say its the same as the games. correct me if im wrong but does the driving gameplay on DoC in first person? i didnt claim that all games of PS3 and 360, i just said "most of the HD games". yep im not into Graphics enthusiast when i comes to games, for me the Fun factor is the important thing. i havent played World of Goo but based on what youve said, it goes well into my logic since i might Fun that is why it scored well, i didnt claim that all Wii games, i said "Then why do some great Wii games scored lower...". that is why i example Force Unleashed because it is still a great game on the Wii and the effort of having quite accurate controls should also be acknowledge since not all Wii games have well tweaked controls. i hope you clearly understant my point.

The graphics are not all that great, but I agree with the rest of the review, so far I'm enjoying this game. :)
When do you think you'll be posting your review of it? I'd like to read it.

As a proud dutchmen, my english isn't all that great as I would want it to be, but I'll try to pinpoint a few things down about the game in the weekend.

Oh, my bad, I looked it up and you're right.
No worries. This issue has come up before on the forums and a few others made the same mistake.

If you hadn't mentioned it, I wouldn't have known that English isn't your first language. If you're really that concerned about spelling or whatever in your review, I can look it over before you post it, but I doubt that will be necessary.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to it cuz it'll be the first review of this game from a source that isn't questionable. :P
Ok just a question to you all, the review button on any game here on gamespot doesn't seem to be working for me, not in firefox and not in IE. The review is al written, does anybody know how to upload it?
Edit: someone else confirmed that it isn't working, I'm going to bed, I'll refine my review later and try to upload it again. Good(night/day) all.
After playing this game for a few hours, I can tell you guys that this game doesn't feel or play like anything you might have played before.
Shooting parts are on rails, yes, but they have far more depth than, say, Umbrella Chronicles, which is actually a fine game. You have a lot of weapons to choose from, and they all feel VERY different. The AI is kind of dumb, but the real challenge isn't the AI, but the fact that you have two bars: energy and life. Energy will keep going down slowly but surely and, once it's out, you start losing life. The real challenge is that you have to beat the shooting scene as fast as you can, so you can look for items to fill up your life and energy bars.
Rescuing people is fun too. There are several types of rescue sequences and you will rarely have to rescue two persons in a row the same way, which makes rescuing feel fresh and fun.
Driving scenes are not that cool, but the controls are as responsive as Mario Kart's, so, it's all good.
Graphics are not bad, but they are not Metroid Prime 3 or Super Mario Galaxy material. They do the job, though, and looking at buildings falling down and all that stuff can be kind of impressive. Voice acting, on the other hand, is REALLY good.

That makes me both happy and sad: happy to hear that the game is (I'm guessing) good, and sad that I still don't know if I'm gonna be able to play it. :P
