I don't know what other people "usually" say, but I know that Official Nintendo rags usually overrate games on average. Official Nintendo Magazine (UK) overrates Wii games 72.5% of the time. Nintendo Power is a bit better at 59.7%, but only because they inexplicably and horrendously underrate games at nearly the same rate that they horrendously overrate them (i.e. they gave MLB Power Pros a 65% and Okami a 75%, which balances out giving NiGHTS a 90% and RedSteel and 80%.) I can't find the statistics on the Australian branch, but the proverbial apple doesn't fall far from the corporate tree.

I don't think you get what I'm saying. None of the examples I gave were made by Nintendo, whether the overrated or underrated examples. My point is that their ratings are either usually overrated on average (in the case of the UK branch), or, they're so erratic that they can't be trusted as an indication of quality (US branch.)

Same here. The issue of money isn't a concern for me though. But school is.

It does look interesting, it may sneak into the AAA ranks, but I am expecting like an 8.5 here, but regardless it will be a good game that no one will buy, just like No More Heroes was.Sepewrath

The fact that the first review is so positive certainly tells us a lot about the game's quality, but I don't think we should immediately crown this Game of the Year just because it got a 10 in a Nintendo magazine of all things. Nintendo Power often dishes out AAA scores to pretty much any game which is mildly entertaining or better, and their Australian cousins likely do the same. It's all about selling games on Nintendo's consoles.

Sure, this score is basically proof that the game will be good, but we will have to wait for a more neutral source to review the game before we can get a truly dependable score.

Anyways, I think it's great that the game got such a good first review, and along with the stellar hands-on impressions of the game, this score proves that the game will be great! I just can't depend on any source sided exclusively with one console for a review – it's no secret that such sources have exaggerated the truth in the past.
