Now that the black ones out im thinking buying a wii there still 200$? what does it come with and how much is another controller? i loved playing the wii sport games and i grew up like most did on games of the nintendo franchise but havent played a zelda or mario in years. the main reason leaning me towards buying it is for the older games you can download but im wondering what the library is how many game systems it covers. also can you guys recomend me the best games ??

I believe it's still $40 for a new controller, but quite frankly it's mostly a console that has single player games. There are games that have great multi-player though so don't let that be a turn off. I really suggest you pick up Mario Galaxy just because it's that great. the console itself will really only come with the necessary wires and a controller. as far as older games you are just gonna have to go to game recomendations thread.

The recommendation thread is on top of the page, that points you to some of the better games out there. Yes it is still 200 dollars, you probably can find bundles with extra controllers, but they cost 40 dollars on their own. The VC covers all Nintendo consoles through the N64, the Genesis, Arcade, Neo Geo and Turbograhx

Yea, the reccomendation thread is your best bet. Since you asked I'll reccomend Super Mario Galaxy 2, I liked Mad World but there's mixed reactions across the board, No More Heroes 1 and 2 are popular ones although they also have mixed reactions, and if you want a party game then I personally think the best is Wario Ware.

EDIT: By the way, these are all disc based games. I don't know if you knew that or not.

Get the black Wii first off as it is the slickets looking Console maybe ever made. I just got one and already I do not regret my purchase (second purchase). Go to WalMart.com and see if you can find the family bundle as it starts at 279.99 and that included the wii (and the controller, nunchuck, wii sports, wii sports resort), 2 games (I got Monster Hunter Tri and Smash Bros Brawl, although there are others to pick from), a charger station, an extra controller, an extra nunchuck, and the plastic peripheral crap that I have not opened. It's not even what is on the Wii right now that has me most excited, its whats coming (metroid other M, Zelda: Skyward Sword, Goldeneye Wii, Donkey Kong Country Returns and more).

Something that should be mentioned to you here in your thread,

There are a lot of really bad games for this system. You will see a lot of them when looking for the ones worth playing. Don't let this detour you from buying one of these consoles. These are excellent game systems. Also, don't let the price or popularity of a game decieve you. There are some games for this system that haven't gained wide popularity in sales that are some of the best games that I have ever played. Namely Muramasa, Okami and Silent Hill among others made by third party producers.

Just about any of the first party games are going to be a hit. New Super Mario Wii, Galaxy and Galaxy 2, any Metroid or Zelda title are no-brainers, butone of the things that I want to point out is that Nintendo has been teaming up with other development studios to come up with some groundbreaking games, like Sin & Punishment that just hit the shelves.

Right now couldn't be a be a better time to get into this system. People are getting a much better deal on the systems now, compared to when I bought mine and there are some incredible titles for it this year.

I can give you some suggestions if you get a system, via PM. If you're interested in a game, check out some gameplay footage on Youtube and check out gamefly.

If you like Netflix, you can run the streaming movies with a netflix disc and a service subscription.

Don't do it. What will your friends think when they walk into your house ready to play some HD awesomeness and then they see "The Wii" *cue Disasterous music and sound effect*. If you want to stay a part of the cool crowd, don't do it. You'll only miss out on a ton of awesome games both new and old, did I mention that you could play GC games on it along with downloading games to it all the way from colecovision to N64 and new independent and high named company's own side games through WiiWare and Virtual Console?

Remember the Pringles Slogan for it works with the Wii as well:

"Once you Pop, the fun don't stop."

Seriously though,Games Recommendation Thread is where you need to check. It'll help you out alot.

I agree, BUT the next console needs HD. It is not even the graphics really that bother me, rather the lack of HD. Great games though so definitely worth it.

I recommend Super Mario Galaxy 1 (pick 2 up when you are done), Zelda TP, Metroid Prime Trilogy, Mario Kart, Smash Bros Brawl, New Super Mario bros, Little King Story and muramasa the demon blade. Thats just some of my favourites Im sure I missed a few but Im not sure of the top of my head, but if you are after a bundle you should probably try and get Wii Sports resort thrown in too, you will save money buying it all bundled :).
