de Blob is an upcoming video game of the puzzle genre for the Wii developed by Blue Tongue. Both are being published by THQ. The game will be released on September 26, 2008. de Blob is an action puzzle title that allows players to explore and liberate an alien city from the evil, monochromatic I.N.K.T. Corporation that has taken over the city and outlawed all color and fun from daily life. Playing as de Blob, gamers will embark on a quest to re-animate the city of Chroma, and bring spunk and character back to the oppressed, by splattering buildings, landmarks, and citizens with color. de Blob features an intricate single player campaign as well as a multiplayer experience that supports up to four competitors via split screen.

Gameplay
The player starts out as a ball of clear water. They then roll the character around until it runs into one of many paint cans which consist of the basic rainbow colors. de Blob then rolls and jumps around splashing and sliding on the city's buildings, smearing his newfound hue, returning their color. As he does this the once-silent city gradually regains its soundtrack with each "stroke" of de Blob, with each color corresponding to a particular sound. When the character runs into an orange can and spreads that color, guitar music will start playing. If the player turns yellow, piano will then be added to the mix. If the player wants to rid themself of their color, they can go to a pool. If they maintain their current color and run into another paint can, it mixes the color of the can and their current color, potentially adding new musical highlights. As the game advances, de Blob will advance through the game by "cla*sing up" from 1, at the start of the level, to 100 by the end. He does this by fulfilling missions. With every number he advances, he grows bigger and bigger, until he is huge and capable of taking on more powerful tasks. The more paint added to the city, the more citizens, known as Raydians, will arrive with various missions for de Blob, including obliterating groups of I.N.K.T. patrollers, painting entire landmarks, or even painting various locations by hopping from target from target without touching any other surfaces. Eventually there are vast pools of "ink" splattered by the evil corporation and cause de Blob to turn black and lose life until he washes it out with water or color. The enemies have not been officially named yet and are only known as the I.N.K.T. opressors. They come in various categories such as the ground cla*s which walk, the air cla*s which can fly when they turn their hat into a personalised zeppelin, and the water cla*s that fires ink from the seas via old-st*yle steamboat. Painting the city in diverse ways can open up gates and other required necessities for the game as well as significantly increase one's score and other hidden nuances. Painting a wall by hopping from wall to wall without stopping counts as combos, and there are tricks and moves the player can use in order to increase their points.
This must be the first THQ game I'm really interested in. How about you?
