Delayed Porting?

Do games ever get made for a certain system(s), then later on get released on another system of the same gen just at a different launch time?

Specifically, I'm hoping for Rock Band and Brutal Legend for the Wii, yet neither is set to be released on it (although it would make perfect sense, one would imagine).

It almost makes me consider picking up an Xbox 360. We'll see how the reviews of Rock Band are, and whether or not I could get into Halo, which seemed to be the only reason people bought the system up until now.

Is there ANY evidence for this? Why would they release it on 360 and PS3 and NOT the Wii simulateously?

Although I suppose Nintendo likes to play things super-close to their chest, so we wouldn't know if a later version was coming out for the Wii until the week before. And they WOULD have some Nintendo-exclusive content, like being able to have your band comprised of Mario, Luigi, Peach and Yoshi or something.

I have Guitar Hero III, and it rocks, but I want Rock Band as well. With that and Brutal Legend coming out, I'm considering picking up a 360 to suppliment my video gaming experience. Is that blasphemy on a Wii board? Don't get me wrong, I'm a Nintendo-player through-and-through. This would be my first non-Nintendo system since my Atari 2600.
