Confirmed via NintendoEverything.

Square Enix had been previously hesitant to officially reveal the game’s cost, but nothing has changed since retailers put up their original listings. We’ve confirmed with the publisher that the Wii U version will indeed set you back $50, but only $30 on other consoles.

I wasn't expecting the game to perform well before considering how old it is, but now with that price point it's really not going to sell much. Developers wonder why no one is buying the Wii U version ... well, the audience is not stupid.

I've yet to play it and was planning on buying it on Wii U... I probably won't anymore. That's just absurd.

I'm pretty sure it comes out on the same day or close to it as Sonic Lost World as well, which is an actual original Wii U game. Yeah, Human Revolution on Wii U is being sent out to die.

When it doesn't sell on Wii U I hope they don't cry "oh our games don't sell on Wii U"...if they do, I hope someone would have the balls to point the price difference to them. :P

It's a great game for sure. I mean $49.99 is already a bit much considering the original version is on the PS3/360 for ~$19.99 now, but the fact that it's going to be $29.99 on the PS3/360 makes it even harder to justify purchasing. You might as well wait for it to drop in price.

they'd price it at $30 or less if they cared about it selling. at this price, it is just sad.

Likely because they spent more money making the Wii U version, but they're cutting off their nose to spite their face in this instance.

well its was built from the ground up on wiiU....just like rayman legends.

also the gamepad is in every wiiU console so you dont need a vita or smart glass to use the new 2nd screen features.

No this is just a port. Square is just trying to sabotage this game to drop Wii U support.

The original version of the game was a mess with boss fights. This version makes it possible to win them all if you go down non-combat paths with your upgrade choices. It's the superior version.

I got it on Steam for $5, and earlier this year it was even $3.

While I agree the boss battles were horrible and my least favorite part of the game. they were only 3-4 of them.

I remember the 2nd boss battle took me over 45 minutes after numerous freekin attempts. The way I beat her was I used to stun gun and stunned her one time right as she came toward me for the first time, then pulled out my heavy duty machine gun and fired all rounds within to 2 inches of her nose, all headshots. The fight lasted literally under 10 seconds.

Waiting for a price cut seems to be the best option here.

I wonder why they have made that decision.

Im guessing *they think its new for Nintendo system* & Nintendo owners don't know better?..taking advantage of that. If it was just Wii U exclusive then yea I get it..but when you have also made it for the other platforms it means the control would be nothing special ..like Splinter Cell Blacklist, where you can switch to using non gamepad control.

In this case it actually started off as a Wii U only game, much like Rayman Legends. I think by the time it comes out people will probably find some of the new additions to be pretty awkward on the other two versions.

I don't get why companies sabotage their own products like this. It reminds me of EA releasing Mass Effect 3 on Wii U, by itself for $60, when they released the Mass Effect Trilogy earlier that same month for the same price. Companies complain that their products don't sell on Wii U, but it shouldn't be a surprise at all if the version lacks content, is under-supported, or costs more than other versions.

*sigh* First EA with Mass Effect 3 and now Square with Deus Ex? Do developers NOT want their games to sell? I would have gotten these games on the Wii U if they were, you know, actually worth getting on the Wii U for the price compared to the other consoles. Was Most Wanted U priced a lot more too? I'm not sure since I got it cheap.

If I recall correctly, EA had a pre-launch price of $30 through their web site(which is how I got it). After that offer expired, the game was $60. Didn't take long for the MSRP to come down.

Yeah, I'm with most of you guys too. I'll wait for at least a $30-$40 price tag before I pick this one up. It's one thing to have released it along side the console versions and maybe priced $10 above the others due to the Wii U gamepad features. Releasing it this late though, when it's $30 for the consoles and even cheaper on Steam for the PC, not worth the convenience cost of the gamepad.

honestly, i'd probably go with blacklist. but i'm probably in the minority. if nothing else, as someone else said, the price of deus ex will likely drop pretty fast.

Just a guess but would Nintendo releasing WIndwaker for full price have any impact on this decision?

Maybe Ubisoft is "following the leader" so to speak?

Deus Ex: Human Revolution is fantastic. The new changes sound great, if you've never played it now is a good time to. It's just unfortunate that they're charging Wii U owners $20 more.

This would be a must-have title for me if it included Wii remote and nunchuk controls as an option. Ya let me down Square-Enix and Eidos.

$50.00 for Wii U version while only $30.00 for Xbox 360 and PS3? Why when all 3 consoles are "equal" in processor power? The cost of developing for Wii U can be that high? Since I have all 3 consoles the choice now is down to 2. Why spend $20.00 extra when you don't have to?

People will spend (and try to justify) $50 on a 10 year old remake with pretty graphics and hardly anything added except faster boat sailing, difficulty increase, a First Person camera view that you can't even use the sword in, and yet hesitate on a 1 - 2 year old remake that has quite a bit more content added for the same price.

The logic of most Hardcore Zelda fans...

I have to agree though on the pricing of this game. Just like I said for the WWHD remake, this game should not cost more than $40.

I'd much rather spend my money on the new one that is coming out on WiiU.

You should get the fix for free, in that case. This version looks like the addition of several featurettes, that probably cost nearly nothing in development, being priced as premium DLC.
