I already posted this but i decided to elaborate this time around.

So i think that a Devil May Cry game built from the ground up for wii could work really well.

So heres my idea for a control scheme:

[A]-Action Button (Examine, Open Door, etc.)/Shoot when in long-range mode

-Switch to Long-Range Weapon (it could use percise aiming where you aim at a target then it locks on the target- like Dirge of Cerberus)

[Z]- Jump

[C]- Devil Trigger

[Swing Wii-mote]-Close-Range Attack

[Swing Nunchuck]-Style Move

[+Pad]-Move Camera

[1]-Taunt

[2]-Reset Camera

So what do you think?

and think about it on zelda you had to do that and the game turned out great

It would be fun as long as the sword motions are more like Die By The Sword.

I think those controls could work pretty well. I loved the DMC series on PS2 and I wouldn't even mind seeing remakes of 1,2 or 3 on Wii. Seeing 4 on Wii would be awesome but unlikely to happen.

Sure DMC could work on Wii, but still don't ever expect it to come to Wii. If anything DMC comes to Wii it'll probably be a remake of some kind.

meh like I've said before, I'd rather they create a game that is made for the wiimote, rather than changing a game to work for the remote

wouldnt work . just like ninja gaiden wouldnt work. these type of gamess are to fast to be be swinging around the wiimote. from what ive seen the wiimote is best suited for slow pace action games like zelda. btw i just got to the temple of time 20hrs played.

umm i always hear the same complaint the game is too fast paced for motion controls

but if you think about it, it could work i mean what in DMC two hits and the enemies die and the most they send is about 10-15 at a time if even that plus theres long range

an example of a fast paced game would be spiderman 3 they send like 7 enemies and you have to fight them off swinging the wii-mote and also prince of persia but of course you had the option of defending in that one

and a shooter thats fast paced is FFVII Dirge of cerebus they sent hordes of enemies

so dont give me the complaint its too fast

im sure the only reason your complaining is because you cant keep up using motion controls

and i got to the temple of time in 23 hrs w/o a strategy guide

The control scheme that you suggested seems pretty good, although, DMC's combo system is about style, and I'm not so sure of how well that "style-system" would carry over to the wii-mote's motion sensing.

But, given Capcom's recent obsession with porting their games everywhere, it could very well happen with some of the PS2 DMC games.

I had a dream that Nintendo made a game called Vampire Knights.

It was basically DMC but with Mii support. It took a mii and filtered the facial features and body types through a more realistic system. After it filtered it you'd tweak little inconsistences to make it look more like you. But here's the big feature. Every Mii will have different stats depending on features and body type and name and score in wii sports. Such as a Mii with a high score with boxing would be better in fighting, one with good tennis skills would be a good sword fighter and etc. Also, customizable clothes and weapons would be availible.

Also, as for the controls, the nunchuck stick is used to move, titling the nunchuck in a direction and pressing C will dash in that direction. Gun control would be based on arms. Press Z to bring out your Left gun and B to bring out your right. To shoot you tilt your wrist back as if getting the shock from shooting a real gun. Aiming is locked on and etc. I haven't worked out swordplay yet and there's alot more to figure in but I think this would be cool :P

sounds pretty cool but the only problem is that your stats are based on wii sports maybe it should just improve your stats but not completley determine them

RE4 was a essentially a gamecube game with motion controls, DMC4 is being made using PS3/360 hardware. You can't just port it. It would have to be downgraded so much.

Oh, OK. Yeah, DMC3 could definitely be done on the Wii. But I'd prefer a new game opposed to just another ps2 port.

I never really played any dmc games so it would be nice to play one of them.Even though I could just go out and buy all 3 of them for dirt cheap on my ps2 I would rather play it on say the wii.

Ok, besides that being some random guy's blog, the Wii is still a lot less powerfull then the 360. Either way, if DMC4 is ported, there will be downgrades.

Well sillicon knight is not a random company, plus I didn't say that that it would be like the 360 or ps3, but that it could be visually impressive. Mario Galaxy is just the beginning of good looking games. Capcom could manage to do a great looking DMC fo the Wii

Here's a part of the interview

Here is a quote from an IGN interview with Factor 5's CEO Julian Eggebrecht on the Wii's power and developers being sloppy:

IGN: Resident Evil 4 was a beautiful GCN title. Rogue Squadron was doing things at launch that developers still haven't done on Wii. Why do you think that is? Are studios getting sloppy on Wii?

Julian: Yes. I'm so disappointed knowing exactly what the Wii can do -- and I still think nobody knows it better than we (no pun intended) [laughs]. I really have to say, boy, am I disappointed! They all have finally figured out, five years into the hardware's life cycle, how to do at least basic shaders and a rim light, but that's what everybody does. But I still don't see enough bump and normal-mapping, if any. I still don't see enough post effects, although you would have insane fill-rates with Wii. I don't see any of that. I was digging out Rebel Strike the other day and was looking at it, and we had some people who were visiting ask, "Why isn't anybody else doing this on Wii?" And I am at a loss. I really am.

Yea, I read the interveiw. But a direct 360 portcannot be done on the Wii.

it sounds like every other port that the wii gets

why not just create a new game with a unique combat system, for example you swing it low it hits low
verticle swings give verticle slices etc. and will someone add a STABBING motion to at least 1 game! seriously!
and eemies that reacte to each of these hits (like RE4 did when you shot them in the leg, head orarmetc.)

well what more do you expect theyve created a new method of control so for now they are working on all these different control schemes on old games so if they make a new franchise it wont be completley ruined by people bad mouthing it because its bad controls

and when dragon quest comes out you can stab

the god father has characters that react and it also has great controls

well lets say it does happen, the controls seem ok, but how would you hold down the melee attack button? i mean some moves would be missing b/c the wiimote swings are corresponding to button presses. the long range thing needs some tweaking.

it probably wont happen cause apparently capcom isnt supporting wii to much now but hopefully in the future they realise their mistake and do release it

What mistake?

the mistake of not supporting the wii as much as other systems seeing as its out selling the others
