Wait where you connected to the internet when this happened? If not then they are putting the recent firmware updates on some of the games. Makes sense since not everyone has internet access.
Yes and you know what is so awesome about it? It upgraded the wii. So sometime in the future we may see more mii options, improved online, ect.Axel_rocks14

 it will update if you dont have internet cause i brought my wii to my dads house and was too lazy to set up internet, popped in the rental and boom, update.
So it's safe to say that this obviously wasn't an isolated incident, the wierd thing is that only people who buy the game will get the update but people who didn't will have an obsolete Wii. That doesn't seem fair.

I'm guessing it's updating the game.
that's weird, But if it's to fix a glitch or something why didn't they just delay the game for a week or so. If they had enough time to code the disc to automatically get updated why not do it right then and there.
    Did anyone here read the manual? honestly, don't wait for the RTFM:twisted: troll to have to show you where it says it. Anyways, it seems to be an update to prevent mod-chips like Wii-Ninja and Korean DVD sellers. Nintendo is locking down the Wii, so I would advise playing the game if your Wii is modded, because like the PSP, the Wii will force/help its customers keep current.

 Other games will have the firmware update in them as well.
