All I see are people saying it's one of the best Wii games, am I the only one who didn't like it?Who does not like Super Mario Galaxy? That is the best Wii game to ever be created.
It felt like a downgrade of SM64/Sunshine... they made it more linear, took out all the exploration elements and made it easier. How does THAT make it a good game?! One of the best things about 64 and Sunshine was being able to roam freely, looking for secrets, exploring the levels. Galaxy had none of that. You only start the level and go straight to the finish. That's pretty boring for a 3D platformer... am I the only one who thinks that way?

All I see are people saying it's one of the best Wii games, am I the only one who didn't like it?Yup. Same way I felt. I got bored of it. Well executed, well polished, but not my cup of tea. Though I don't know why people complain about the underwater controls. They were fine for me.

read the new prince of persia review? i guess its the same: the difficulty or linearity doesnt make the game any less fun.BrunoBRSIf the game is so easy that it doesn't present a reasonable challenge, then it's in danger of leaving players unsatisfied by the gameplay. It just becomes unrewarding because it's overly rewarding. There's a rush of endorphins that you experience after getting past a tricky jump or clever puzzle or figuring out something unobvious that just can't be replicated by a linear, easy game.

I'm glad to see I'm not alone here. :) I personally had more fun with SM64 than Galaxy because there was just so much to explore and it felt so exciting to find all the secrets the game had to offer. Not to say Galaxy was bad, I just prefer SM64 myself.

All I see are people saying it's one of the best Wii games, am I the only one who didn't like it?Nintendo_Fan128No, your not the only one. In fact, I disliked it so much, I sold it, and have not regretted doing so and probably never will. It was fun for about a month or two, but I doubt I would have ever replayed it.
As awesome as Galaxy was, Fire Emblem: Radinat Dawn was my personal GOTY in '07. dragonlife29
Really? I was considering getting this but i'm not sure how good it is..
Galaxy was good, sunshine was better. Mario 64 was above both. Most people didn't seem to like Sunshine for some odd reason though. Dang conformists...
I agree with Topic Starter Guy, way too linear, no exploration. That was what made SM64/Sunshine fun. Galaxy lacked that, so I never even bothered playing all the way through it.
Can I ask where all this exploration was in Sunshine? Galaxy was certainly more so, but even Sunshine seemed fairly linear to me.
Its hard not to like galaxyat least a little. And you have to give it credit for at least being a little different. I liked the more diverse locals than Sunshine and the fact that they got rid of the annoying spray the walls and then run for blue coins over and over and over thing from sunshine. That being said, without blue coins there were less collectables which made me sad and sometimes just going from small planet to small planet wasn't as much fun.
Though I don't know why people complain about the underwater controls. They were fine for me.clicketyclickThe controls were fine, but the camera was complete ass. But anyways, I agree with the original poster. I liked Super Mario Galaxy, but I've played Wii games I enjoyed much more.

Did it have its camera issues? Occasionally. I wouldn't go to the extent of it sucking thaaaaat bad.

I had no problems with the camera anywhere in the game. Did you use the c-button when underwater?
The only problem I had with Galaxy was its difficulty. The next one need to be harder..

The camera system for Galaxy actually got tons of praise from reviewers across the net. It's actually quite amazing how the camera mostly took care of itself through the majority of the game.i was nevr a fan of mario platformers, and i may be the only person in this forum who hasnt tried it yet,
but my friends tell me it is the best.
Whoa, I'm surprised at the number of people saying they prefer Sunshine over Galaxy!
And about the camera thing, I never have problems with the camera in any game. The only one I did was in Super Mario 64 DS, because you actually had to stop and change the angle, and it was way too slow.
The only thing I did not like about Galaxy were those space bunnies. They just felt out of place. I do have to agree that this game lacked the exploration qualities it had in the previous games, making it a little bit easier. I almost didn't get galaxy, but at least I know that Mario is still impressive in the gaming world.

Yep I'm with you Gabu! Underwater camera was very very very very very very very very bad!

...or maybe they have legitimate reasons to dislike the game?
