[QUOTE="Haziqonfire"]I'm indifferent to it. I don't care if it up scales or not.Masenkoe
Why would you not care? Upscaling can be amazing...
I don't really care if it looks visually better. It's not going to be a huge issue for me if Wii games don't upscale, I couldn't care less. They're not emulating it, so obviouslt it's not going to be upscaled. In otherwords, they're just sticking a wii inside of the wiiu.
What's more ludicrous is the fact that it isn't supporting GC games even though they don't even have to add anymore hardware to run it since the Wii is just an overclocked GC.

First of all, the idea of Nintendo not supporting B/C with a console 2 generations behind it, when its competitors can't even get 1 hardly seems ludicrous. Secondly, having B/C in a system is not as simple as chucking its predecessor into it.
Yeah, your actually quite wrong lol. Anyway, Reggie said that awhile back, things change, so who knows what the end result will be. Doesn't really matter either way, I wouldn't be getting the Wii U for upscaled Wii games.Except it's not....at all....

1. It's all disc based, there's not one reason there shouldn't be BC. Unlike it's competitors Nintendo hasn't lost the rights to any hardware, all of their hardware is easily playable on it's own hardware as long as it's disc based.
2. Nope you're very wrong there, it is as simple as putting a chip inside the new machine. The Wii is a souped up Gamecube that's why it's Gamecube playback is perfect. There is nothing stopping Nintendo from doing the same thing with the next console.
It's a money issue, everyone would rather pay 20 bucks up front for a console that goes back to the Gamecube but that doesn't make money at the rate people rebuying Gamecube games will.
Agreed. To a Sony or MS fan, having "next gen" graphics is a must, but to a nintendo fan, that train retired after the Game Cube. I wonder if the PS3 will have the same effect. Either way it would be nice to have, but only if it doesn't make the Wii U more expensive.I think a unifying trait among most sheep is our indifference to graphics capabilities in comparison to amazing game design and control. I would love to see some upscaled Wii graphics, but I honestly wouldn't care if it didn't happen.

Yeah I wish it upscaled too, that would have given the Wii U another cool feature. But I guess it's hardward compatibility and not emulation so that's why. What's annoying though is that VC including probably Gamecube games now will be upscaled as they will be emulated so Gamecube Games might look better than Wii games.
I hope they add full 1080p support with good AA and AF for all Wii titles. Anything else would be a disappointment.

Why is it ludicrous when they've done it before?
And it pretty much is that simple. The only thing they'd have to add is support for the small discs which is a pretty minute cost. The only reason not to do it is that they're probably going to put GC games on the VC without even having to emulate it lol.
Thinking that emulation is simple thing is HILARIOUS, people have been working on emulation for decades an some of it still doesn't work well. "Oh but its so easy if hardware is alike"
Hardware is so god damn fickle you peopel have either never built your own computer or really have no idea what your talking about. This is like saying every game realesed on PS3 can run on Ps3 firmware 1.0 or whatever the first edition was, an that is false on like all accounts. If a system these days cannot even run the games it designed to run, what would make it run games it isnt designed to run so easy? Oh nothing?
Exactly! Not that I should be arguing with trolly mic troll face but meh.
quit whining, you can buy a used Wii with GC support for $50 these days.. nearly all game stores don't even carry gamecube games anymore or have a single shelf of dusty used games. A lot of popular gamecube games were rereleased on Wii as well. Your average person who doesn't have a GC collection would have to end up resorting to other methods to play these games.. get over it.

That's an awesome rant and all but what thread did you mean for it to be posted in?
I ask because it makes no sense in this one
I would like the Wii U to have this feature, as much as the 3DS "enlarges" resolution of DS games I think it would be pretty easy to upscale Wii games without losing compatibility with any title
In any case I don't think it is going to happen and, as far as I remember, Reggie told Wii U won't do it
It can be really good but I won't make them upscale it.. If they want good, if they don't want it's not my problem.
