Like many people will say in this thread, you can always get skins for your Wii and it's controllers. Personally, while a Black Wii would be nice, I'm not really concerned since I already have the system.
And yeah, they showed these pics when they were first revealing the Wii, but I don't believe Nintendo actually said they'd sell them in different colors. This pics could have just been made to excite gamers to the Wii's release. Don't worry, though...it's Nintendo! They'll eventually release different colored Wiis, right before they release Wii 2.0 that will feature better graphics. Then the Wii Advance that will be smaller, have even better graphics, and a backlight!!!

people who want a wii but dont have one right now will buy whatever they can get their hands on. let them buy a white one and then once wiis can be easily bought in stores (aka everyone who wants one has one) then theyll release the colors and people who wanted the color ones but have white ones will buy another.
reggie confirmed ,, they are waiting for demand to drop ,, basically a way to get more people to buy the wi once it slowed down in sales, just like what a certain price or game would do a color may make people want one
look at n64
those were released way after its launch to make more people want one ,, possibly the reason it held 2nd place in the market they did nothing to improve gc hence why they are 3rd thats really the reason the gc failed to sales charts, dont say because of kiddy or online, online just started in 2002-2003 when ms launch xbox live ,, gc came out before any of this happened and had some online support thats now dropped as of 8-7-07
i believe nintendo did the right thing this gen . and i think they didnt try hard enough last gen because they knew they couldnt have gone out of the business , cause one has already done so , thus keepng them in a good spot ,
and the gba was there so they decided to rush gamecube then work on their next design the wii which has been said in 2004 to be not a traditional console ,, thats when all this stuff about an n5 later revolution now wii,, has began ,
so ya i think they waited till this gen to start showing their big guns
and like some one said they probably waiting til every one who wanted a wii has gotten one,,
to release colored ones to make demand rise to that same level as launch lol, good strategy to make wii as succesful as ps2 and maybe theyll atract even more that time , surely by then their will be alot of aaa titles as if there isnt now
they're prolly waiting till demand drops. As it is they can't crank out enough of the white one's to meet demandmeluvulongtime8

Man, the last time I took wood-shop was when I was in middle-school 19 years ago. As you can see, when I took the picture I still had not put back the innards of the WiiMote. I still have to screen print something on my Wii though, I have an idea, but I've yet to make it into the screen-printing shop with the time I need for my project. The colors will be out as soon as Wii stops flying off shelves.
NES, SNES, GB, N64, GBC, GC, and DS all had new models. Hell, GBA had three.

I agree... Nintendo will only release the assorted colours right before the launch of another version of Wii, in order to boost sales of the current model...
Actually, I wasn't planning on getting a Wii so soon (got it last Saturday), because like many of you, I wanted a different colour (a red or black). But the release of Okami in the upcoming April changed my mind.
Meh, the wii is good enough as it is, no amount of colored plastic could change what it is... who cares if it would match my room or not?MangoLlamasdoesnt white match anything?
Then again...I don't really see a problem with the white one. Honestly, shouldn't it be the games and the hardware inside that really matters?Radiohead85Well, I know that in the realm of home theater hardware, I know of plenty of A/V-philes that are also so style-obsessed they'd absolutely refuse to even purchase equipment that may be better than what they have, purely because the hardware's color would end up clashing with the rest of their aesthetics for their system. We're talking like the kind of people that would go out of their way to wait/buy a black/white/silver version of something so that it could fit in with their home theater equipment.
[QUOTE="Swifty_Magee"]they release Wii 2.0 that will feature better graphics. WolfWatch
uhhh? then will they make games only for Wii 2.0? if it has better graphics then the wii 1.0 cant play it? so i think that statement is incorrect. correct me if i am wrong.
That was just a joke, dude. You know; I was making fun of Nintendo's trend to release a piece of hardware, then a year or two later, release a slightly improved version. Like I joked in the next sentence that they would release the Wii Advance. I'm not serious...but in all honesty, if that's what happened, I wouldn't be shocked in the least.
And they did actually pull something like that with the N64. After a few years, they released the Expansion Pak that added RAM to the system. From then on, certain games wouldn't run on the console unless you had the Pak inserted. A cheap and unnecessary move? Maybe, but it shouldn't come as a big surpise. How many Game Boys have there been?
