Anyone else disapointed in the big movies game tie ins?  I mean, none of them even got a 6 on the Gamespot rating scale.  I wasn't expecting a whole lot, but I thought at least one of them might have made a 7.

I haven't seen a single web site give any of the three games above a 6/10.

I'm disappointed, but not too surprised. I always want them to be much better than they actually are.

Well, Golden Eye was good, the last two Spiderman movie games were pretty good and King Kong was awsome.  So not all movie games are bad

Movie games are probably the worst bunch of games humanity has ever seen. It's rare when one that doesn't blow chimp comes along, and a game like Goldeneye comes every decade or so.

The LOTR games made by EA (the first two; the movie tie-ins) were pretty killer. The only thing I liked about Spiderman 2 was the free-roaming swinging, but I hated the first one. That's really the only two (other than goldeneye) that come to mind. But yeah, I really liked the Two Towers and Return of the King games. Probably my favorite movie games.

That's not true. RTS games are actually one of the best genres, almost always succeeding in sales. There are almost never RTS games that are completely panned down as a failure by every media outlet. This is because RTS games rely on the imagination of the person playing it, and the experience is always different for every person.

Movie tie-in games are usually rushed like crazy to match the release date of the movie itself (if not, before the movie even), which is usually why they're so terrible. I've come to expect it from any movie game.

Naturally there are exceptions, like Goldeneye and Godfather: Blackhand Edition, but it shouldn't come as a suprise that a movie game is bad.

Me too; for me SM games are all about skillfully swinging through the city, and SM3 easily has the best web-swinging mechanics IMO. I'm also keeping an eye out for the next Batman game now it's been handed over to a better developer.
