Classification : M
Consumer Advice: Violence, themes and infrequent coarse language
...Are you sure you're not misreading that as 'T'?
I mean, Monolith is a first party developer to Nintendo, and I don't think Monolith has ever made an M rated...
Unless this article is a bunch of...well, crap.
It's not an article, it's the Government of Australia....Are you sure you're not misreading that as 'T'?

A game getting an M rating is always better than getting T, except if it was a Mario game or something, I don't really care about the rating, I want released by the end of the year.Dymond7
ahahaha, and I thought my jokes were bad...
Oh...
Well, at least it's some progress. I know the game was going to be released in Japan in July, but delayed it. But if the supposed release date was not that long ago, they shouldn't take too long, right? Unless they do a complete overhaul...

explain that logic to me ?
I think his Explanation is because it was rated Teen they might have to tone stuff down and or git rid of things completely just to get it to pass with a T rating but if it was an M rated game they don't really have to tone down the game or get rid of alot of things they just have to get rid of the worse things but for the teen rating they have to erase alot of things to get that rating if they have an M rating....Are you sure you're not misreading that as 'T'?

For those that still don't get it: This is not an ESRB rating! This is an M rating in Australia which is equivalent to our T rating.

Well thats good, if the news that it was rated M got out, there would be another 100 news articles on how parents are protesting against it.

The austrailian M is for 15+. It is not our teen (13+) and not our mature (17+).
SirSpudly
I was going to say that, I think twilight princess also got an M in austraila

No, Perfect Dark was published by Rare.
Actually, it was published by Nintendo, Rare was the developer.
Rare has never been a publisher, they've always had some one publish their games for them. And at the time Perfect Dark was released Rare was a developer for Nintendo, so Nintendo was the one who published any game Rare made.

c_rake
No, actually you are wrong. Rare was both the publisher and developer of Perfect Dark. The same was true for Conker's Bad Fur Day. Nice try though.
Jeez, I didn't mean to start an argument. xP
But yeah, I do hope there is more info on this game soon, it does look terribly exciting.

Don't wanna get your hopes too high, but it appears to be scheduled to arrive in Q4 2008 in Europe.

Also about the rating, OFCL's M isn't even 15+, an M rating doesn't imply any legal recstriction: http://www.clas(delete)sification.gov.au/special.html?n=276&p=134

Shogo- mobile armor division. that was by monolith and got a M. But monolith isn't nintendos 1st party. Maybe like a 2nd in this case. Same goes for the game "FEAR". Produced by sierra, made by monolith.
