Now i'm thinking they are rushing it. But we should be seeing gameplay vids soon, so we can judge.

Rushing it? Hasn't it been announced since 2006? It better be damn good.toadster101What i meant by rushed was that they didn't give us time to get hyped about it. If we got gameplay vids now and we got the game in december/january would be fine but we have NOTHING and the game is being released in japan in 3 weeks.

Nintendo likes to give info within weeks of releases now, just like they did with Wario Land: Shake it. I personally am not very hyped for this game.
I prefer it this way.
Scenario 1: "Hey, here's all the info on this game we've been making and the best news is that you'll be able to buy it in a month!"
Scenario 2: "Hey, here's the name of a game we're making at the moment. We can't tell you anything about it now because it won't be finished for 3 years but we'll drip feed you info on it over that time so you can get super hyped over it until the reviews come out........in 3 years time."
I know which one I'd choose.

I personally hate Nintendo's new release plan (not talking about the game until a couple monthes till release). Because if i preorder a bunch of games (and not a lot of money left) and if they announce the game a month before November, i'd have to come up with extra money to get them.I prefer it this way.

Good point.
Does anyone else think that it wil sell so poorly in Japan.
well gameplay videos should be comming up in a little. this game better be good.
well people say you shouldn't hype gaymes so maybe three weeks is enough time to hype a game
I dont think it will do all that well in Japan, its doesnt really have that appeal that the japanese market desires. Its sort of like Metroid it may turn out to be a great game but they still wont buy it. So springing the release date on Japan may actually work better than allowing to see how americanized the game is and automatically deciding against it. So while I think they are rushing it to retail which could indicate bad things, I dont think development was rushed as the game was announced in May 2006 over 2 years ago, and they probaly were working on it before then.
But something else to take into account is that Nintendo did buy Monolith and i dont think that the first game out from a new acquisition will be bad. Sort of like what happened with Rare and Retro, but hey we'll know soon enough.

Sometimes even if its been announced awhile ago doesn't mean that development has been very progressive,, this games looks rushed to me unless they surprise me.
I really don't see the rushing it thing. Or how it could fail to live up to expectations. Have you seen the board for it? Its pathetic, there aren't that many people that are aware of it, even amoung people who follow games. That being said, we're in the dark almost as much as the average consumer, which kind of puts everyone on even ground here. Corruption wasn't advertised all that well up till its release.
On top of all of this, Monolith is a quality developer, Baten Kaitos and Xenosaga have both been solid game series.
Totally of subjects but they even got Kh coded before us!!! Why japan? Why are you tomenting us!!! I'm so going to have a house there so i can get the lasest rpg !!!glitterscarlet

Exactly, although I would like them to give us at least some info on the game and some gameplay, now that they've announced it's coming out in like a month and a half where I live.
It feels like they rush it... then again they did say they did not want to build hype for games because it ruins the suprise and fun. Maybe they are really starting to do that now.

The game has been in development since before E3 2006 that is nearly 3 years ago, if that is a rush I would hate to see how long it would take if they took their time. They are sort of sneaking it into stores, maybe they don't want to overshadow things like Animal Crossing since they hyped that so much. But like its been said I have faith based on the developers track record, and the track record of 2nd party devs work under Nintendo (Rare & Retro)
