Hi all. Having an issue with a buyer on ebay who just purchased my pristine GBA SP and is claiming it has a deep mark on it that she claims isn't visible but can be felt, thus she is refusing to take a picture of it and send it to me. She's threatening claims and all kinds of crap. I am certain this unit had no such "mark" because it was owned and used only by me and I obsess over my gaming stuff. I would have had a heart attack if it had gotten such a "mark" at some point. That, and I have all the images I took of the unit in high resolution and I can clearly see no such mark anywhere on the unit as I took pictures from all sides, open and closed.

So my question is, does each SP have it's own serial number? I'll have a case to fight her if they have unique serial numbers because she won't be able to prove it without a picture of the unit being open with a matching serial number AND said mark on the same unit. I wasn't able to find any info about this on the net. Any help would be appreciated!

Jen

Every manufactored electronic item available for purchase should have some sort of serial number printed on the unit, as well as on its packaging (usually around the bar code of the box, if it has a bar code). I haven't looked specifically at a GBA SP, but I just checked my DS Lite and it has one printed on the bottom; the GBA SP might have one in a similar location.

Thanks for the quick response. Yes, it does have a serial number on the back and I took a picture of it before I shipped it out. I was wondering if each unit has it's own serial number or if all GBA SP's have the same number. Just looking for ways I can save my tail in this situation because it's my word against hers.

Yes it should, each handheld from Nintendo should have a unique serial code.

Yup, Bano's right. Serial numbers are used to track unique items, so each unit should have a different number.
