Two completely different games. Some dislike brawl as others dislike Mario kart. Just matters what they like most or in the mood for i'll be getting Mario kart and playing both.
I haven't play smash bros for a couple weeks now and I gettin mario kart soon.. I jus hope the online modes on mario kart isn't like smash bros I don't want to get disconneted like a million times till I final play someone
My friends aren't really interested in Smash and the lag pisses me off. I think Mario Kart is just a better online experience, so I tend to stick with that.
I like to play online since most of my friends aren't into video games. Brawls online experience is okay, but Mario Kart's is superior! I tried playing a round of Smash, but I couldn't and quickly went back to Mario Kart.
I haven't gotten MKW yet, and I'm not sure I will. I just don't have tiem in my gaming schedule for it right now, and with rock band and wiiware coming out soon, I'm not sure I ever will.
WHen it comes to brawl, though, I will say I only play it these days when my nephew comes over. Not because I'm bored with brawl yet, but because I have so many freakin games to play right now and i'm trying to get all the "one shots" (games that I don't plan to replay once I've beaten them) out of the way.

I'm kinda the same. I have MKW but i'm pretty busy with GTA4, and I need to fit Okami in there somewhere.

I pretty much agree with this except I would say Brawls online is rubish. SSBB is lag-tastic and MKW online is damn near flawless. It's very quick and easy to join a game online with MKW. You don't have to setup a friend game to play with friends. You can exchange MKW codes with people you've exchanged system codes with via invites.
I think I'm going to hold off on buying Mario Kart for a while in case I see something better but if not I'll get Mario Kart. So as you see the choice has to be that I play Brawl since Mario Kart is not an option.
