I know it won't make the graphics better, but I just want a clearer picture. I have an EDTV so all it does it 480p, but everything on the Wii looked so washed out. Is it much better with the cables?

Yeah, it makes a different. I have a HD TV and i can tell the difference between cables. It looks sharper and crisp. Only like 25 bucks so why not?

That's the maximum resolution the Wii can display at. I only have an SDTV but the cables do improve the visuals quite a bit so I would recommend it. Make sure to get cables manufactured by Nintendo because many people seem to have problems with third-party cables.

That I know. I've heard it looks horrible on a real HDTV, but since I have an EDTV I figured it's about the best the Wii can look.

By the way are these sold in stores or online only?

I'm pretty sure they are sold in stores, but you can get a much better deal if you purchase it on-line.

I picked up the official Nintendo component cables and I must say, they definitely make a difference. Everything is sharper and the colours are much brighter. If you have the TV to use them, I'd definitely recommend you get 'em.

When I first used the component cables on my HDTV, I hated the jagged edges. but the look grew on me and I actually like the 480P much more than 480i now. In SD, the games look fuzzy and washed out. But in 480P the games looked clearer, sharper, more vibrant and it makes text readable.
