by usb or something else, you dont need a charging station right?KurupSoldr
WiiMotes use AA batteries. There are a few (very crappy) charging stations to choose from. The best bet is to get a set or two of rechargeable AA's and a charger. Works great.
batteries WTF that is kind of lame but good idea on the charger i guess KurupSoldr
Batteries are better than internal rechargeables. 1) If the battery dies while playing a game, pop in a new set. 2) Batteries over time lose their ability to charge. Controllers with built-in batteries have to be sent in for replacemnt. 3) No play and charge kit. 4) No USB cables lying around

Amen awesome Jason Bateman avatar owner (truly an underrated actor this generation)
Grab a 4 pack of batteries and a charger. I choose Energizer, just make sure they're a trusted brand and are rated 2500 or higher.

Good points, but doesn't it take a pretty long time before the internal batteries lose the ability to charge. Also, my wiimote batteries died mid-game and i didnt have any spares so it kinda sucks that you have to go out and buy some batteries as oppposed to just popping in a cord.

If everything works correctly you have about 500 charges before the batteries show wear which starts to be noticeable.
As far as batteries you buy rechargeable batteries. There is no sense in any Wii user using regular batteries past the ones that come with the Wiimote.
Get 2 more then the number you need in the Wiimotes and you always have a pair. Also since the Wiimote itself tells you what charge the batteries are at there's not many times you'll be taken by surprise.
You'll also be able to use them in things like the balance board or just anything else that needs batteries.

I noticed in the wii manual it says not to use rechargeables (even though I know tons of people do anyway). Is that just nintendo being too overly cautious?

Yup, just covering their keisters
I've been using Energizer rechargeables since the American launch and zero problems.
Just make sure they're a good brand, if you'd like to copy my purchase I'd agree it's a good idea :P

Cheap, off-brand rechargeables can leak. Neither you nor nintendo want battery acid all up in yo 'mote.

Thats for sure. Thanks for the postings by the way. I might get those energizers or the nyko charger down the line.
