If you play it in one of the 2 darkest settings it's not too bright at all...

yeah.. i think thats why they added the brightness adjustment. it actually makes my eyes all blurry if i play on the highest brightness, anyway...not to mention it sucks your battery down to practically nothing.

I've never had mine on the highest setting; I keep it on the lowest.

IMO, there really isn't anything known as to bright. Espicially for a handheld system.

No it is not too bright. That was always my complaint on the older Nintendo hand helds, too dark to see well to play.

The only time that it's ever bad it in the direct sun. Everywhere else it is phenomenal.

When I play in the dark with the lowest settings, it's still a little too bright, but it's not too bad.

It is not too bright, thats why there are different adjustmentsand i always keep mine on the lowest brightness setting. I own the black ds lite so everytime i use my friend's whos is white, i find it really bright for some reason. If you're talking about playing in the dark, then it usually hurts you're eyes at first if you have been in the dark for a while because your eyes need to adjust to the different light.
