I have heard the Wii U is backwards compatible, but do the Wii games look better?

Thanks in advance.

Not with my set up I have a 42" Sony Bravia. Wii games look better on the Wii then on the WiiU. I'm using component cables with the Wii. From my experience most games look better on the hardware they were build for. I get more alaising (jaggies) playing Wii games on the WiiU.

@mattahn123: Yeah, some games look better on Wii U, the Wii ran games in anamorphic, stretching games to match your widescreen TV settings. The Wii U renders the Wii games in actual widescreen. Some games you might not see a difference or will be worst like Xenoblade and Skyword Sowrd is best on SD TV, but the simple ones should look amazing, like Kirbys Yarn, Kirbys Return to Dreamland, Mario Galaxy, Donkey Kong Country Returns, etc.

Play "better" ----> not really, look better ----> some will and some won´t

To improve the quality you can use this gadget, transforms the ordinary AV signal to HDMI

If you were using component cables on your Wii, you won't notice a difference on Wii U.

Slightly better, by that I mean very slightly - from Mario Kart Wii it does look a tad better with colour/contrast (same TV & settings just different plugs Wii - component, Wii U HDMI)...that's probably why Nintendo didn't touted as one of the features instead just said Wii U will play Wii games just as Wii does.

the difference is very small...like you have to see them side by side to tell.
