Lately, I have been having these nightly! They are always very detailed and intense. Sometimes I'm flying through the Universe like Mario. Other times, I'm a whole new video game "concept" where you can call up characters and talk to them just by saying their name. Weird!!

Back when Metroid 2 first came out, I ended up playing it like crazy for about three months (I just loved that game... best classic GB title, imo). I ended up having a couple of dreams of earth qukes opening up cracks in the earth in my back yard where I would go down into and kill metroids, heh.

I also had a few Quake dreams, too, but I think that's because I would play the sound track while I slept (yeah, I was at a strange point in my life then >.< ).

Actually, I have. Well not so much that I'm in a game, but I've had multiple dreams where I'm playing a game that hasn't been released yet.

I usually don't have dreams anymore... so no.

When I was a kid I would have dreams all the time... Maybe it's because I know what the world is all about and I think that there is no more mystery to it.

Is there a way to start having dreams again?

Yeah, dreaming is actually something you can develope. Look up lucid dreaming and you'll find plenty of sites on the subject. You actually dream every night, so training yourself to remember them is the trick. I used to be able to count the number of dreams I would have in an entire year on one hand, but when I started learning about lucid dreaming and keeping a dream journal, I started remembering dreams like crazy. Now it's like a switch... if I want to dream a lot, I can.

I tend to have a lot of dreams about someone who looks and acts very much like myself who, one day, wakes up to find that he's the only family member home. Unfortunately, the bills are still coming in, so he has to quickly get a job and pay them off before he ends up losing precious things like his house and his broadband Internet connection. This all seems ordinary, but it's when he walks outside that things become very different-all of a sudden, it seems as if the entire Earth has become populated with video game-related things. All sorts of strange characters from various games roam the place now, and you can find stadiums for sports like Super Smash Bros., Speedball, Frungy, and of course, things like deathmatch and capture-the-flag, just to list a few of the profound changes. This person, who might as well be me, ends up taking on whatever odd jobs he can, such as acting as a tour guide for any new arrivals to this world(particularly those from medieval fantasy or even more alien settings that may not exactly understand our industrialized world)and being a flag runner for a CTF match that encompasses several game series. Sure enough, he always ends up getting into life-or-death situations with the world at stake, but that's video games for you. Of course, the characters and settings featured most prominently depends on what game I'm playing at the moment.

The last few nights when I go to bed I close my eyes and see MKWii tracks flying through my mind...pretty sweet...helps me fall asleep happy! Hours on end right before bed playing MKWii will affect you I guess.

Yes. But I can never fall asleep thinking of video games. They always get me too excited to sleep and I have to get back up and play them until I'm too tired to think about them anymore. For some odd reason I only dream about turn based video games when I do it though. Probably because I think a lot more when playing those and it imprints on my mind.

I have dreams that I'm playing Video Games, but never that I was actually in one. Sometimes I wake up from it, and my thumbs are moving like I'm pressing buttons.

Last night I had a dream that I was inside a game. It was like a combination of Star Wars: Republic Commando and Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. I remember going down this secret shaft in the streets of some city. I went down into this underground tunnel and kicked this glass wall with my foot. There was a Space Pirate that saw me... and I then I woke up.

Another dream I had recently was in this mansion. I was Marcus Phoenix and Midna and Wolf Link were inside. There were multiple wolves I actually remember seeing one of my team mates chain saw one of wolves. It was so awesome.

I've also had a few dreams over Smash Bros Brawl, once on Metal Gear Solid where Snake was blended in the trees and he shot so dude. I've had a dream as Toon Link from the Windwaker. I just can't stop thinking about video games :P

I dreamt this morning that I was selecting a vehicle in Mario Kart Wii. I didn't play or even feel like I was in the game in the dream, I was simply selecting a vehicle trying to balance out the stats I thought would suit me best. Such and exciting dream!

I think of my life as a video game. I need energy? Eat food or sleep! I want to level up? I'll exercise! I want to upgrade my abilities? I'll read a book or learn something new...like a new language. I want to play co-op, I'll hang out with friends.

Back when I first played Zelda:OoT I dreamed that I was Link every night for four nights. And once my cousin was having a B-day sleepover and we stayed up all night playing video games, I was playing Kingdom Hearts on my cousin's PS2 and I must have entered this weird half asleep and half awake mental state, because I was asleep and dreaming about playing the game, but then I woke up to find myself actually playing the game. So my subconscious mind must have continued to play the game or something while I was dozing, it was weird.

I once had a dream where I was riding on Yoshi's back. This happened after I was busy playing Yoshi's Island on my Nintendo DS so much :)

So you look at life like the Sims? Interesting approach.
