Just an odd question out of curiosity. Of course, I keep all my cases and manuals in mint or pristine condition. I don't know, I just like to keep all the stuff that I bought with whatever game/system I have...it just feels nicer. I'm no collector by any means, but I know some people throw out their DS cases/manuals...

What about you guys? And what are your reasons?

Of course. At least with the DS cases you can actually store the game cartridge in them, unlike the Game Boys'.

Lol box goes straight in the bin with those old things, no wonder I still find old games at the bottom of socks in my top drawer

I keep all my boxes. I even have some Gameboy Advance boxes.

I have a little cabinet thing full of them.

List of them:

1. Nintendo DSi.
2. White DS Lite.
3. Gameboy Advance SP (Imported from Japan. The box is SO small. It's insane).
4. PSP 1000.
5. Kodak camera.
6. iPod Nano first generation.
7. Original DS.
8. Gameboy Advance (Purple/clear).
9. Motorola Razr.
10. Wii Motion Plus.

All the paper work/extra straps and stuff are in the boxes.

Edit:

Just realize you meant for games. Who throws those out?... With Gameboy ones, I can see why, but I doubt anyone actually throws out the DS ones.

Sometimes when I go and buy things from the store, the store doesn't even have the correct boxes. Therefore I have found collecting boxes and manuals a chore. I just keep the games and this is all I need. That is fine with me.

I keep the new ones and some used ones as well, as long as they're not the cheap-looking Gamestop cases.

I don't think I've been that good with the paper boxes, but ever since the games have come in plastic cases, I've been real good about things. In regards to my DS games, I have little plastic cases that hold three games a pop and that's exactly where the cartridges go once they get home. The booklets stay in the cases and the cases go in one of my wooden shelves.

Somewhat relatedly, I can't stand people who sell games (say, to Gamestop or online) without the booklets. Why!?!?!? Don't you think the new owner would want it?

I definitely keep all of my DS boxes/manuals/etc. When I was younger, though, my mom made me throw away all of my old Gameboy and NES boxes, she said we didn't need them, but I'm a pack rat when it comes to my games. I have to keep everything that comes with them, as well as keep them in the best condition possible.

Yup! I have my DSi box and GI mags holding them up too. I've just very materialistic. :P

Most of my wii games are used and have that ugly yellow sticker on them so I don't really care for displaying them as much.

I keep mine. The case and manual get stored in a cabinet while the games go in one of my multi-game holding cases. I keep the boxes for all this kind of stuff, helps with the resale value.

I keep all my game boxes. I keep a console box for around a year or so just incase it needs to be returned. I hate clutter.

I keep all my DS boxes and manuals; and when I get a "Gamestop" box instead of an original - I buy a lot of used games - I download the pic of the cover, print it out in color, and put it in place of the Gamestop one. I just think it looks nicer that way.

I keep everything, and in perfect condition because I'm a pack rat and super anal when it comes to keeping things new. My books are the same way, it's like a pet peeve if I see a page that has been dog-eared :p

I've kept all of the cases/manuels for my DSI games and I still have the box that the DSI came in too.

I hate seeing so many generic cases for used games at Gamestop and I refuse to buy them if they aren't in the proper cases:P

Why wouldn't I keep the case my game came with? where else am I going to store it? To answer your question, yes, I keep the cases, manuals, etc. for my DS games.

I keep mine. Its one thing to throw out cardboard but everything comes in nice, neat, plastic cases now. Really no reason to trash/sell the cases unless you are absolutely sure you aren't ever parting with the games. Boxes always help resale value.

I keep all my boxes, cases, etc. Unless they are the kind of packaging in which you can only rip them open, then I dispose of those ugly things. I guess I'm kind of superficial about it, because I don't primarily keep them for return or resell purposes. I just like having all the original material.

I keep everything, even the little plastic bags you find inside the box. I'm a maniac regarding this kind of things.

I still have my Amiga 600 box + manual +... plastic bags (I swear!)

Yep. DS games are pretty small so I know if I leave them laying around, I will lose them. So I keep the boxes for storage. I also keep the booklets in case it helps to keep their value up if I decided to sell them....

I keep all my game stuff. I still have my PS2 box from when it came out. I just am so afraid that if I move I won't have anything to put my sytems in. Plus, you never know if you might need them later on! =]
