releases different games in NA as opposed to Europe (not gonna count Japan cause that's an entirely different story). Only reason I ask is because of how each region is getting different games released at different times and wondered how eveyrbody though of that, good idea, bad, don't really care, etc lol

Being in europe its a little better than usual because we`d get everything virtually last with australia. There`s still no Trauma Center, Super Swing Golf, Eledee`s or Link To The Past. Now consider we also pay the most for both software and hardware. Imagine if americans payed like $100 more than europe, got the console later and have most games delayed by months (games costing more too). The uproar! :o Its a strange system, ideally everything should be released worldwide but I suppose this is better than nothing :)

I don't see why they can't release everything for all regions at the same time...but I suppose I don't really mind how they're doing it. I just don't know why.

Different languages, more development time I think would describe it.. US spends either the most or 2nd most on video games (probably the most considering Japan is not as big).

The fact that US spends more, we get the games asap...and in some cases faster than other countries.  If other countries are getting them later using English...now that would be dumb.

Yeah, I really don't understand it...maybe they have to market it different? Theres probably some lame reason they do it then.

well the US/Canada and Europe all speak the same (for the most part) so why wouldn't they just release the same games to both regions the same week, why different ones?

There is the PAL/NTSC difference. I'm making up excuses. Maybe the different export/import laws.. I don't know where the biggest market is but i wouldn't know how that would influence release dates anyway.

NO WAY! The European version must be translated to English, French, German, Italian and Spanish (and even more languages, but most games come in Multi-5)

I imagine that's a big part of it... nonetheless, though, Europe really does get shafted in this industry. I don't mind if Nintendo throws them a bone over there here and there... I mean, Jeez, they gotta have something.

not all games sell equally in all territories.

It would be foolish to go thorugh the effort of releasing a game in NA that would only sell well in europe. when you can release something you know appeals to the majortiy of NA tastes

that and localisation takes more effort than just translation
and if they were to release all games in all territories many games would have to be localised properly and fully, since they may not have been released in all territories originally

The way I see it, the entire PAL/NTSC is silly. Cosoles should be region free like handhelds.

They have to do it because they must first know if the item will be successful as it costs a lot to release in other regions. If it flops in Japan, they won't release in other regions. If they release worldwide in one go and it flops, they lose a hell of a lot more money.
