I find that the Wii Remote looks cooler with the Jacket off, but I find that the Jacket is obviously safer in case you hit something with in and it also adds a much better grip to the controller.

Any opinions?

I prefer off, as I just don't like the feeling of gripping the jacket.

The Wii Wiimote jackets are hideous abominations that not only take away from the looks of the Wiimote but make it a big squishy mess to use.

Nintendo should thank whatever God they pray to that these things free because if they charged me for them not only would I want my money back but I'd also sue them for physical and mental duress for having to use these monstrosities.

In short, I hate them.

I prefer the jackets on. More secure in case "a little accident" happens. :)

I don't really notice a difference in playing with or without them- it's when you see your controller smashed into the ceiling but unscathed because of the jacket that you realize you should always keep them on :3

I leave it on just because I want to prolong the life of my wii motes as long as possible. I think they look better with the jacket on. but i think it is annoying to have them on because i have to put in new batteries a lot.

Yeah. Batteries are a big issue. Guitar Hero/Rock Band instruments, however, are an even bigger issue. The jacket is just pointless; it's there to get in the way.

The Nintendo jackets are terrible but the colored jackets are nice. I have each remote covered with a different color so when people come over I can assign them by blue, pink, and black. I also don't like my remotes NOT being covered because I like my stuff to be clean.

i play without it, for a few reasons, i have rechargeable batteries for it and the jacket prevents them from fitting on the charging station properly, also i use them with the mario kart wheel, and that just doesnt work

I used to play witht them on because i liked the grip.

but once i started playing guitar hero, and mario kart. it became annoying to have to keep taking it off to fit into the perephiral. So i just keep them off right now.

I don't have any. I asked for Nintendo to send me some, but they never came. I don't mind, though. The wiimotes are fine the way they are.

I keep mine off but only because they're such a nuisance when I want to put the remotes in my docking station. They won't fit in and the batteries then won't charge. So, I'd like to keep them on but I'm not really all that bothered taking them on/off every single time.

I got nerf jackets on mine. They are much bigger than the nintendo jackets, but I like the way they fit. When the kids are playing I take them off because they can't get their hands around them. The nerf jackets also are much easier to take on and off than the stock jackets.

I used the jacket so my remote won't be broken so easily.:D

Also if anyone doesn't use the jacket, use the wrist strap, or else you will waste your money.

Off. Constantly taking them on and off for GH or Rock Band is super annoying. It feels better off anyways.

change of plans. I said earlier that I like the nerf cover, however I just got a nyko wireless nunchuck and the adapter won't fit with a cover on it.

Ok - I'm the topic poster.

I have decided that I prefer to have the jacket off because it looks better off, there really is no need for grip (it's not like the controller ever slips out of my hand when using it without the jacket), it is more comfortable off when using the remote for original NES games (i.e. when using the remote sideways) and because for where I play my Wii there is nothing around me that I might accidentily hit so I don't need the jacket for protection (and I always use the wrist strap so there is no risk of the controller flying out of my hand and hitting something).

The grip is confortable though but for the above reasons, I am now not using the jackets.
