I downloaded ToeJam and Earl for the Genesis because that game is supposed to be one of best games ever made. Needless to say, I hated it.

lol its cool, i felt the same way because i grew up playing the SNES one rather than playing the nes version. needless to say, after playing the game for a few minutes, my eyes adjusted enough to look past it and i still enjoyed it.

Beyond Oasis is the only game I really regret. Everyone was saying it was the Genesis's answer to LoZ:LttP. But it is very boring and short, no where near LttP quality. But whatever, now I do more research before DLing.

Wait what? Star Fox 64 and A Link to the Past are awesome games. ALTTP just happens to be my favorite Zelda game and Star Fox 64 also just happens to be my favorite Star Fox game.

None so far, but I've only DL'd 5, so...

I wish I could have gotten more playtime out of Gunstar Heroes, though. I may have to replay it.

I regret downloading Splatterhouse for the TurboGrafx and Street Fighter II: The World Warrior... because i thought it was the same version as Turbo... which I found out soon after I started playing I was wrong... and now I don't really feel like shelling out the 800 points for Turbo... even if that meansI don't get to play as Vega.

Mario 64. I never liked this game back when it came out, and imo it still stinks. My gf wanted to try it, and I DID say she could pick any game she wanted. She played it for an hour and hasn't touched it since. That was like 3 months ago, and she's a huge fan of Mario games.

I can't beleive some of you!! Hating Mario 64, Zelda: link to the past, Mario Kart 64!?!? Are you all mental? Those are some of the best games ever. None of the gamecube reincarnations of those games even compare! I can't say any of the new Zelda's suck...but Zelda:LTTP was one of the best.

I don't really regret downloading any game so far, just I don't remember Kid Icarus being that hard when I was like...5, lol.

I purchased Ordyne for the TG16. It was supposed to be a Cute'em Up, but overall I was unimpressed. It didn't have the humor and charm of most cute'em ups but wasn't really on par as a good shoot'em up. Just a real bland game.

Same here. Next to super mario, zelda is my favorite video game franchise, so i was disappointed at how difficult and boring this one was. Granted, it was the first, but since i've been so used to using a map and talking to other people, this one felt difficult, IMO

Generally if you didn't play a game back in the days when it was new, you probably won't like it today. If your first gaming system was playstation/n64 or above, then you will probably feel very disappointed with just about all the VC games.

Just seeing some one say they are a fan of the Zelda series, yet say they are disappointed in A Link to the Past is proof enough. That game was, and still is, amazing. Especially for it's time. It's still my favorite in the series.

Well, that's my case. I started playing in the SNES era, but my first Zelda was Ocarina of Time. I enjoy many other SNES games, like Super Metroid (my first Metroid was MP3, but I like it anyways). I think this happens to many people.

i dont really regret getting any, i just wish they had a trading system (like Gamestop) where you can trade in old ones towards new ones and get like 300-500 points for them depending on what system it is. They would still make money off of it.

I regret downloading TMNT. I thought it was the arcade version and not this one. I remember playing this one when I was like 7 and not being able to get past the water stage trying to disarm the dynamite. I can get past that now, but not any further. This is by far one of the most frustrating games ever made, and I wish I could trade it, sell it, or just get my points back!

I've been trying TG-16 games because I never played them before...I DL'ed Bonk's Revenge, Shockman and Soldier Blade... the first two I hate with a passion, the third is okay but dull after a while. I'm hoping that more recentNeo-Geo games show up because I'd love to playSamurai Shodown and sequels--the crap SNES version really doesn't cut it.

Yeah, that's why I said that if a person didn't play it back in the day, then they generally will not enjoy it now. It's almost akin to listening to music. Each generation usually doesn't like the music from the previous generation. There are exceptions, of course, which we call classics, hehe. It's not the best analogy, but it kinda works.

No, I think you will find that Tomb Raider and Metal Gear Solid were far morer overhyped and over-rated. They only sold because of the Playstation's popularity. I remember playing both and not only did the blocky, ugly, colourless graphics make me puke, but they bored the hell out of me.

I particularly have a passionate hatred for these two franchises. I mean, Tomb Raider sold because it had a woman with big breasts.Thats it. Nerds fancied Lara Croft. Replace her with a male character and it would never have acheivedas much success. Sex appeal is a clever way to exploit money out of people, and they still do it with music (Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears etc.).

rant/

Anyway, on topic - I really enjoyed the Splatterhouse franchise but until I downloaded it for the VC I had never played the original. I wasnt really disappointed with it, save for the fact that the Turbografx 16 version is inferior to the original arcade version.

I also downloaded Super Mario World and Neutopia, although they are both fine, apart from Neutopia being a shameless Zelda clone and not half as good. Come to think of it, Zelda would have cost me 100 Wii points less, but what the hell would I have done with the remaining points?

its a remake of a game called doki doki panic, but as a game its really not that bad. give it a chance, and dont compare it to a mario game and you should be good with it. or just download the japanese version of it instead...but careful because its really hard your first time through

i dont regret any game because they are all classics. nintendo has made some of the best games in the history of gaming with hits like mario 64, zelda ocarina of time, mario kart 64, and Super Metroid. how can you ever go wrong? and why are so many people hating on mario 64? that is one of the top 5 best games ever created. it basically created 3D games and platformers as we know it.
