Im not so sure, because last year Myamoto said something about that such an event would not happen at E3 anymore. Im not sure I can find the link, but try google it. What do you think? Would't we have heard about it now if it happened at E3. Afterall E3 is not an event anymore, where they reveils games not known to the public untill then. They usually does this weeks before - Not like the old days. So what do you think?

I dont think a Wii Zelda will be revealed at E3. Firstly, Spirit Tracks was just announced, so they will probably want to give some time to that, and I dont think they would display a console Zelda alongside a handheld Zelda at the same time at the same conference.

Secondly, there were a lot of games at their conference last year that they really need to expand upon and show more of, and I feel E3 would be a better time to do that alongside Wii Fit Plus.

We might get a teaser or something later on in the year at their own conference, like they did last year.

I hope so, seriously whats up with making 2 handheld zelda games within 2 years but only 1 console game within 3-4 years and no new one announced, zelda will never ever feel full on the handheld no matter what anyone says.

I believe both Twilight Princess and the Minish Cap were announced in 2004, so it is definitely still possible that Nintendo could announce a new console Zelda, despite their unveiling of Spirit Tracks. With that being said, even though they could announce a new Zelda, it most likely won't be coming out this year.

And also, why it might be taking them a little longer with this Zelda is because they might be experimenting more with the formula. Miyamoto had claimed in a interview that Twilight Princess would be the last of its kind. Of course, what he meant by that exactly,is open to interpretation. I've also somewhat wondered if the new Zelda will be taking advantage of the Wii Motion Plus, which would explain why they have been taking a little longer than previous installments. And sinceMotion+ is coming out rather soon, Nintendo may feel the need to show off some more important games that take advantage of the new add-on. Of course, I could be completely wrong, and we won't any video of a new console Zelda this year.

I can't see it happening since Spirit Tracks was announced recently and is due out at the end of the year. An announcement at the end of year is more likely with a Holiday 2010 release.

It'll be hard to imagine Nintendo not having anything Zelda related at an E3.

i dont think itll be at e3....it may be at another convention later in the year (perhaps tokyo..or maybe nintendo will have their own thing later on). i dont think it would be unreasonable to expect to see a new zelda wii announced this year though. were coming up to 3 years since TP now.

We're three stinking years in and we know NOTHING about the next Zelda. It's about time we at least got a teaser.

I certainly hope so. It's been a while...

Actually, I'm starting to think that I would actually prefer for them to bring back one of their old franchises over announcing another one of Link's adventures. Yes, the Zelda games are epic, but still, right now I'm craving some good Star Fox/F-Zero/Kid Icarus/Donkey Kong. I know the likelihood of any projects being announced that are related to these franchises is very low, but hey, we can always hope, right? :D

Three years is plenty of development time, if they don't show a trailer for it soon, then they must be slacking off.

Still need to hear about the next Metroid as well.

I really hope so. I haven't played a Zelda game since Phantom Hourglass, which felt a bit weird.

Twilight Princess was great though.

Oh, and I want a third-person Metroid game.

Maybe, but more likely at the next CES or TGS. E3 has become pretty irrelevant the last few years and even with the supposed efforts to change that I am not buying into it until I see it for myself that E3 matters again.

I think that we won't see the next console Zelda until next gen unless they use the same engine and pull a Ocarina/Majora's Mask type of move. I really don't want a new Zelda unless it is an improvement over the last and that would mean next gen.

We have yet to even see a "Wii-gen" Zelda. Twilight Princess was a GameCube game/port. The timing is now right for a new Zelda on the Wii, and Nintendo does need to redeem itself a bit from last year's E3. However, even if we don't hear it announced at E3 I think we will by the end of the year.

Well, I don't think it's impossible. People say "no they won't, because spirit tracks is coming out for DS". But when you think about it, Phantom Hourglass was announced shortly after Twilight Princess, so I think there's still a chance.

I still don't think we will, though. At most we'll see a little teaser.

I don't understand why everyone is hoping/thinks Zelda Wii will be announced at E3???? Spirit Tracks was just announced #1, and they have around 10 games to talk about aleady (1st party/publishing).

The game is supposed to be different than past Zelda's, so I expect it to be quite some time before it's released. Maybe announced next year or the yr after.

Maybe because 1) We love Zelda, it's a great game series and it's always great when Nintendo makes a new one AND 2) We haven't gotten an official Zelda game for the Wii, Twilight Princess was developed for the Gamecube, and it has been 2 1/2 years since the Wii came out with still no Zelda game built specifically for the Wii.

There will be a teaser, to please fans and let us know "yeah, we're making a new one" without just having an executive say that in words and leave us with nothing, but do not expect gameplay or anything very long, it will just serve the purpose of letting us know that one is in development.

people expect the biggest changes from the console versions. the handheld versions have traditionally been based on the innovations made by the main series. so that's why. they want something big and new, but that takes more time than duplicating an already created world (i.e. the wind waker spin-offs).

miyamoto has already said it always takes a long time. zelda fanatics could spend this time re-playing the series in anticipation, or.... i don't know, play something else?

but naturally people are excited for E3. ;p

yeah, I guess I can agree with that. I do hope for big changes this time around...I just hope it doesn't involve some kind of reused "gimmick" like ST is reusing the vehicle concept.

I just don't like seeing people hoping for something that most likely won't happen (I hope it does just as much as the next person), but oh well. I don't want the forums in an up-roar like last yr's E3. That was painful on the eyes.

I'm still busy playing Punch-Out!!, Boom Blox Bash Party, and I'm even replaying Twilight Princess (still my favorite Zelda game). And then we're getting The Conduit, Metroid Prime Trilogy, Wii Sports Resort, Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom, and Resident Evil: Darkside Chronicles.

I don't know about you, but I won't be too upset if we don't get a new Wii Zelda announcement at E3. The Wii has way too many good games coming out this year. Most of the games I listed above seemed to just come out of nowhere (I'm having more fun playing Punch-Out!! than the overhyped MadWorld). I'd rather have Nintendo do the same, and just announce the next Wii Zelda one week before it arrives in stores...
