first off all ssbb talk should go in the ssbb sticky

second yes you can just go to a store that sells wii games that doesnt take preorders... such as target or sears or whatnot...

third you still should be able to preorder it at some places. While Gamestop may be filled up for preorders I know circuit city was not only still taking preorders this week they were also giving out 10 dollar gift cards to those who preordered... you should go see if thats still going on.

at the gamestop i go to they had plenty of preorders yet like a week ago...but idk about yours

Go to a store that doesn't do pre-orders and be there when they open on March 9th. All stores will have the game on that day.ozzsoad

Yep, I'm gonna just swing by my local Walmart and pick one up on the 9th. I'm not anticipating any issues finding one. Game stores generally are less likely to have a new game on release, in my experience.
