I think LoZ TP was a huge fail. The dark ominus tone didnt set in to good, and controlled most of the game play. LoZ are suppose to make you laugh, put a smile on your face. I found this game to be anoyying, i just wanted to get it over with.

Do u think it was a fail?

My favorite of the serious was Wind Waker, how about you?

and as for the new zelda game...i think its going to be a fail also, hopfully not because i love LoZ.

Do you think the new LoZ is gonna be a fail, why, why not?

It's Nintendo (and Link) have gone schizophrenic between Wind Waker and Twilight Princess. I like both, but prefer wind waker because it felt fresher.

*feels incredibly annoyed that the 10 minutes of writing were worth nothing because of glitchspot* summarizing the post: wind waker is my favorite, TP is a close second (still dont get why people dont like it) and i didnt think TP and OoT were similar. in fact, i dont think OoT is close to be the "best zelda ever" like everyone claims. and i wont comment on the new zelda until i see some gameplay footage. hyping over a concept art is bad for your health and for the game. that's probably what caused people to not like TP... stupid overhyping. i hyped TP for all those 4 (or 5) years, and all my expectations were delivered. a long, epic zelda with many stuff to do other than dungeon crawling, many "in-story" events on the open world, a more detailed combat system (although it's kind of a waste on the weak enemies... unless you, like me, used to fight those pig-riding moblins from eastern hyrule without epona and without a shield, using the regular sword and NOT using the finish-off move :P next time i want many regular enemies as strong as the darknuts :P), etc.

"...was a fail". Does not compute. :P I do not think it "was a fail" necessarily, but I the dungeon to dungeon to dungeon thing just made it a chore and the boss battles weren't as cool as they could have been. While some of the dungeons were fun I felt like I had done them before somewhere else and the ones I had not done before were just boring. Like the one where you fight the little dragon thing in the sky with your clawshot. I mean, after the first "hit" I was like, "Well I just have to do this two to three more times" and I was right. I hate how the Mario and Zelda series have this three and out rule; why no damage meters or enemies that change the location of their weak spot so the same old tactic doesn't work again? The only boss I really liked was the one in the dungeon you get the little spinner thing. You hit it three times (or some other amount, I forget) and you think it's all over but then... nope! He comes back for more! That was a fun boss. :D

Best Zelda game made, and my personal second favorite (only to Ocarina) in the series. It bests Wind Waker in just about every way except for art.

I'm actually with you at least in terms of enjoying Star Fox Adventures, though I'm not sure if I'd call it better than Twilight Princess. I personally believed all the complaining was just that it was a nonstandard game as far as Star Fox games go. I loved that game and would love to see another one like it.

I agree with all the Starfox Adventure lovers. It was a fun good game. The thing that was sort of a pain was using items and switching staff functions with C stick. It worked perfectly fine, it just got a little bit annoying sometimes. Oh and I love seeing Fox fight with a staff. He should be in the next Soul Calibur. lol jk >.>

I wouldn't mind seeing another one of those but it needs to be less of a collectathon kind of game and possibly a few more bosses.

I feel the same way, it was a great game and everything i could have hoped for in a zelda game, and as well as it did and was recieved i dont think it could be called a failure by any means. I think its just people had unrealistic expectations for the next zelda and nothing could have met those expectations, so peoples own overhype is probably why they didn't like it. My favorite game in the series is ocarina of time, so i like the tone and art style quite a bit and its one of the reasons i liked TP since it went back to that sort of atmosphere. To be Honest I didn't like WW that much, its a great game but not one of my favorite zelda games.

A failure? Far from it my friend. It sold well, was very fun and got great reviews. I personally didn't like it as much as OoT, but that doesn't make it bad.

Star Fox adventures was an awesome game, and I loved every minute of it. Too bad it's shunned by most....

I just hated that stupid dinosaur sidekick. What was his name again? Stumpy or something?

TP was overated imo. It was the normal solid installment into the series, but I just find that the series has become stale. I hope Nintendo reinvents Zelda with their newest game they're working on.

I love Twilight Princess. The dark tone is engaging, the art style is excellent, and the game is just a lot of fun overall. One of my favorite Zelda games. And for the record, Ocarina of Time is hugely overrated.

I wouldn't say a FAIL. It just wasn't the big reboot the series needs. It was too much of the same Zelda that Nintendo has been putting out since 1998.

I thoroughly enjoyed it.And as a side note,I actually own both the Gamecube version and Wii version of the game.

I wish the developers of Twilight Princess would have used a similar means of switching items.I really liked how you could switch items on the fly in Adventures without being interrupted by a menu.Granted, with so many items,it might not have worked as well in Twilight Princess.

Not even close to failure it was a stunning title and even though it had similarties to Ocarina of Time it still was stunning. It's my 4th favourite Zelda game behind Wind Waker,Ocarina of Time and A Link to the Past.

Dark Zelda is OK, but I prefer the more lighthearted ones like the originals and Link's Awakening. The Capcom ones were pretty good too.

Well according to the user scores, Twilight Princess is one of the better Zelda games. I don't get why there's this consensus that it sucks.

i didnt like adventures, and it's not because "it's starfox without starfox". it's because i just found the game to be annoying. indiana jones for furries. not that i have anything against indy or furries, but i just didnt like adventures. assault on the other hand, had a pretty nice multiplayer :D but isnt this going off topic? >.> *goes back on topic*

i agree. overhyping is probably what made some people not like it. on the other hand, i think i'm one of the few people out there that had all expectations met. everything i hoped for in TP was there. sure, could be a little more challenging, but it's not a problem of the game.

I'm going to have to disagree with you Gabu. You'll notice that some of the later temples (Twilight Temple and Hyrule Castle) were uninspired, short, and clearly rushed. TP is a good game, but just being a good game is below Zelda standards.

You should try replaying TP, and you'll see how annoying it can get. Here's what comes to mind: the bug fetch quests between the first three temples, nothing to do besides the main quest, the lack of any difficulty, almost no memorable characters, the music wasn't too great, some items are used in one dungeon and are never seen again, etc.

Twilight Princess had it's fun moments like snowboarding down Snowpeak and stuff, but dissapointed me overall.

My favorite in the series would be either OoT or WW. As for the new Zelda, I don't know what to think because all we've seen is one piece of art. I do know that Nintendo needs to do something big to refresh the franchise. It'll probably involve Motion+ in some way.

wow. your description of TP is exactly the opposite of mine! i liked the last dungeons (even though i couldnt stand that floormaster-like hand that chased link >_>). i didnt think they were "rushed and uninspired". and yes i've replayed the game after getting over 80 hours on the first file. the first 40 were to "just" beat the game.

Not really, it was a great game, but nothing came out yet that can compare to Ocarina of Time. I'm a little leery of the possible new way of controlling the sword (I'm not too sure of what to expect), but then Nintendo hasn't quite yet disappointment me when delivery Zelda games.

The music was definitly not the best in the serious. WW surpases everything. I also like the way Capcom mmakes LoZ games, they do it great.

But i would love that idea, a mix between LoZ WW and OoT or TP

Truth be told, Twilight Princess was my favourite Zelda game so far.

It was a very well designed game, and I enyoed almost every part of it. The ony things I wish to be improved in the next Zelda would be:

- More difficult combat, because in TP it felt like I could beat any enemy by using the Helm Splitter.

- Harder bosses with varied patterns, so that every boss fight isn't 'look for the weak spot, attack with good timing, repeat 2 more times'.

- Side quests that are not just 'get this, give it to somebody, here's your reward'. Maybe include 2 or 3 extra dungeons that require like a 3 hour side quest to get to, something that offers us a challenge.

- More innovation, like the magnetic ceiling tiles or the double clawshot. Put a little Galaxy into the new Zelda!

Other than that, this game met all of my expectations, I'm currently playing throught it again.

I didn't like the fact that it wasn't dark at all except when the sun went down. Play Majora's Mask, way darker story and tone. It ties my favorite game of all time.

TP was by no mean a failure, just not my favorite. And by Reviewers it received very high scores all around. Other Zelda games had a darker tone to, ever played Majora's Mask?

hehe....fave in serious eh? TP is my least favorite 3D Zelda and one of my least favorite Zeldas out there. Its not a bad game, but it disappointed on so many levels. Great Wii Launch title, sub par Zelda game, great game on its own.
