It won't get a nationwide ban, but I wouldn't be surprised if Wal-Mart refuses to carry it.
Based on the screenshots, I don't think I'll be buying it. It looks really well put together, but I'm gonna pass on the hyper-violence, thanks.
That screenshot of the dude impaled from crotch to skull was enough for me to decide.
no silly,
we aint like austrilia-no offense, we dont have strict rules for games/movies
if so then gta would be the first to be banned ,
I think it will but I hope it won't.SSBFan12ROFL!!! No chance in the world man. If the UK and Australia passed it without any content being changed then the US one will be a simple M for Mature. There is no way the UK and Australia can pass a game and the US ban the same game.
It would not be banned because the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution guarantees freedom of speech and expression. This applies only to the federal, state, and local governments. Retailers, if they wish, can ban the game as do console makers like Nintendo, esp. if it receives an "AO" rating.
Wal Mart carries GTA4.. they'll carry Mad World. It won't get a nationwide ban, but I wouldn't be surprised if Wal-Mart refuses to carry it.

Wii game vs. Xbox game.
I still wouldn't be surprised.

OK? And? WalMart carries Manhunt 2.. better? Its a Wii game.No. If GTA wasn't, this won't be.toadster101GTA just has violence, even if quite a bit I guess. MadWorld is purely gruesome.

it's full of blood and gore but if you really look at the trailers, he's doing the same stuff over and over again. I'll have to wait and see more gameplay before I decide to buy it or not.nini200
I was worried about this as well until IGN posted their hands-on the other day explaining the gameplay a bit.

Firstly, its Australia.
Secondly, it passed here without any cuts ;)
So, no it wont be. Such a thing is absurd in America. Unless it had extreme and gratuitous sex, it wont.
I decided not to get it when I heard in an IGN preview that there was a constant stream of F-bombs being dropped. I'm fine with any amount of violence but I stay away from strong language. It won't get a nationwide ban, but I wouldn't be surprised if Wal-Mart refuses to carry it.

Yeah, it's funny that things can be extremely violent here in the States right out in the open, but to display say a piece of art with exposed breasts get you the scorn of every church and parent within 50 miles.
But videogames... they don't get banned in the US. Now that isn't to say that it isn't possible. The first ammendment does not give people the right to sell any product they want in stores. Local gov't or the retailer could opt out of that.
Yep, USA aren't like Australia or Germany, so no ban.Alex_ParkIt's being given an MA15+ rating in Australia. We are getting the exact same game as everybody else for once, no changes or editing of content. I guess we got lucky due to the game being over the top and cartoon-y rather than having 'realistic' violence.

Thanks for the Link. I read it and from the sound of it, it controls alot like Godzilla Unleashed which once used to it, isn't half bad. This is going to be a fairly nice game. Thanks again for the link.
I doubt Madworld will get banned in the U.S. but do you think it will get all the controversy that Manhunt 2 got due to all the violence?RatchetJunkie20Manhunt 2 got controversy because it was originally rated AO. Madworld won't be rated AO.
[QUOTE="PlasmaBeam44"]Games and movies cannot be banned in the US.SSBFan12Will if they get a terrible rating like if videogames get an AO they will be.
That's not really a ban. It's just that Nintendo, Microsoft, and Sony all refuse to grant a license to games with that rating. You could still release the game on PC.
