No. Games cannot get banned in the United States. The only way for a game not to be sold is if it's rated AO because Nintendo won't license it, and this game won't get rated AO. It wasn't even banned in Australia, and they ban lots of games.

lol a game that looks this ridiculous (in a good way) won't be banned. It'd only be banned if it actually looked realistic.

ROFL!!! No chance in the world man. If the UK and Australia passed it without any content being changed then the US one will be a simple M for Mature. There is no way the UK and Australia can pass a game and the US ban the same game.

No. It's against national law to do that. The game looks like pure M-rated material, and Sega usually makes games rated E to T. This is one instance that Sega isn't all kid friendly stuff like Sonic the Hedgehog or Super Monkey Ball. In other words, it proves they have balls to release something so gory to the gaming industry like Rockstar and Midway.

Like everyone said, games can't be banned in the U.S.. If it got an AO rating, it obviously wouldn't sell well, but I believe it has already been rated as M.

They can't ban a game just because of the violence that's been shown in the tailers and screen shots. Unless someone was killed bacause of the game or people are dumc enough to mimick scenes from the game or a bunch of crybabies out there ( Religious mostly) are complaining because they nothing better to do than ruin fun suff for everyone. That's my opinion and I apologise if I offended any with it. Thank you for listening.

It would not be banned because the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution guarantees freedom of speech and expression. This applies only to the federal, state, and local governments. Retailers, if they wish, can ban the game as do console makers like Nintendo, esp. if it receives an "AO" rating.

It won't get a nationwide ban, but I wouldn't be surprised if Wal-Mart refuses to carry it.

Based on the screenshots, I don't think I'll be buying it. It looks really well put together, but I'm gonna pass on the hyper-violence, thanks.

That screenshot of the dude impaled from crotch to skull was enough for me to decide.

I think the TC meant will it get an AO rating and it wont because its no more violent than No More Heroes and far less realistic so it will simply carry an M rating. If it were to get an AO rating somehow it would just show that the people at the ESRB are no longer competent and the organization should be flushed or disbanded.

No it won't be banned and honestly I don't think the gameplay will be too good. I mean true enough, it's full of blood and gore but if you really look at the trailers, he's doing the same stuff over and over again. I'll have to wait and see more gameplay before I decide to buy it or not.

Yeah, it's funny that things can be extremely violent here in the States right out in the open, but to display say a piece of art with exposed breasts get you the scorn of every church and parent within 50 miles.

But videogames... they don't get banned in the US. Now that isn't to say that it isn't possible. The first ammendment does not give people the right to sell any product they want in stores. Local gov't or the retailer could opt out of that.

It's being given an MA15+ rating in Australia. We are getting the exact same game as everybody else for once, no changes or editing of content. I guess we got lucky due to the game being over the top and cartoon-y rather than having 'realistic' violence.

Not it definitely won't get banned in the U.S maybe other countries though. Here in the US they will probably refuse to sell the game in certain stores, just like they did with Manuhunt 2. I don't think Target carried it.

Haha... how quickly we can forget our recent history. This is the country where the fighting game series Mortal Kombat was made, afterall, and that was the game that made our rating system the way it is right now. If the MK games weren't banned 15 years ago, chances are that anything that isn't pornographic or just completely unplayable will be banned today in this country. You have nothing to worry about, as long as this isn't the extremely rare game that gets an AO rating. If that happens, you can pretty much cancel your plans of playing the game anyways, as Nintendo won't allow it.

That's not really a ban. It's just that Nintendo, Microsoft, and Sony all refuse to grant a license to games with that rating. You could still release the game on PC.
