Do you think Metroid Other M will get AA?

As Epic as the Trailer looks, I believe it will only get AA (8.0-8.5). We might have to see more trailers of it, but i only expect AA. What do you expect?

With any first party title, I kind of expect AAA.

^ from this site it did, but it's overall metacritic (or w/e they use) rating is a 9 I think, so that's AAA

I think 8 is realistic for the game

When you start talking 9's then you're reaching but 8 is a low end solid score, I could see it getting that

If anything that has Team Ninja + Nintendo slapped on the front gets anything less than AAA, its a massive flop.

So no, I don't think Other M will get AA. Metroid Prime had a better chance of flopping because Nintendo left Metroid in the hands of a kind of unproven dev.. seriously, Team Ninja.

Right now with the majority of the action at 2D I think it'll be tough to get out of the 8's

AA is definitely a safe assesment to make at this point since we know so little about the game, so a AA score could happen as far as we know.

I think that the recent revival, neigh, enhancement of gamer interest in the Metroid series has sort of dwindled since Corruption came out. That ended that trilogy, and that was the trilogy that dragged in a lot of new fans to begin with. That isn't to say that the FAN interest in Metroid has died down. While Metroid may never be quite as popular as Zelda and Mario are, it has its fans just like any other Nintendo IP. It think the game will do fairly well, but again it won't be anywhere near the level of energy from fans as for the next Zelda.

That said, I really actually think there is one more game announced for the Wii this generation that is going to be a 'smash hit', that being this Zelda game. In many ways, this Zelda title (which we know nothing about, mind you) has become the "Dark Knight" blockbuster title of the Wii. After that...nothing is going to generate that level of buzz again on the Wii, I don't think. Now, granted, Nintendo will probably still see okay sales for their peripheral-based games and Wii Mii titles from casual gamers as they steadily have for the last 3 years, but as far as heavy sales from the hardcore gaming crowd...this is really it. Super Mario Galaxy 2 won't even compare in sales. Kind of a scary thought.

I'm expecting atleast a 9.0. It looks insane, but maybe too difficult.

It's possible, but I hope it gets at least a 9.

Considering that it is going back to the traditional metroid formula (and also because its been such a long time weve seen it) i can see it getting AAA or a AA. Primes where amazing, but the sidescroll metroids where a tiny bit better. just a tiny bit lol

I haven't seen much of the game yet, so I don't know.

Well I'm kind of expecting AAA, since it's one of my favorite series and all, and from the trailer it looks stunning and fresh, but I'm going to go with the Yahtzee method "Everything is sh!te until proven not sh!te." Maybe not that extreme, but I'll try not to get my expectations too high, I've done that with recent games and it's worked out sometimes but a few times it has led to slight disappointment that could've been avoided.

What we've seen is a majority of 2D, now they could be showing us ALL the 2D gameplay in the trailers but I don't think that's the case lol

I expect AAA. Most of Nintendo's main franchises get that.
