Do you think Ninendo is keeping too much Wii U info from us until E3?

I think so. As it stands right now, I think would be so overwelmed with info and videos when E3 comes and the Wii U forums will be flooded with info and videos.

Reggie, or maybe it was Iwata, said they would be releasing a steady stream of info leading up to E3, though that hasn't happened yet. Assuming the Wii U releases this year, I am surprised by how little we know about it's hardware and release schedule. Though I don't clearly remember how much of the Wii's software line up had been announced by this time.

I think they are keeping a close eye on the competition. Don't want to give anything away just yet.

As long as they release all the info @ E3 and after ...I don't actually mind that they are keeping quiet atm. Releasing tidbits will just lead to wild rumour & speculations.

Exactly, you tip your hand to early, come E3 the competition would have a counter to what you announced.

I think keeping all info from us until E3 is the best thing they could possibly do, so I don't think there is such a thing as holding "too much" info.

I think they should leave the real juicy details until E3.

if it's one thing I've learned, it's that gamers have big mouths. Once something is leaked, gamers spread it like wildfire and potentially kill whatever was leaked due to overexuberant Hyping which leads to the device or software not meeting speculation. Honestly I wish they'd keep it all a big secret until E3. I like being surprised with awesome titles and hardware.

I'm sure this is better for building up hype through rumors and speculation. Plus, there will likely be a lot of info leaking out leading right up to E3. This E3 is going to be incredible. I'm sure each of the big 3 console makers will come out with some bombshells of announcements.

How mad would everyone be if they just gave info on games for the system and then the WiiU itself was just kept quiet until it was released !

1st of all, E3 is where companies like Nintendo talk about up coming games and systems. So if they are "keeping" info about their unreleased product from us, o well. Enjoy what we have right now. 2nd. the more you hype something, the more you know, the more chance you will be let down. personally, i could care less about specs. Im getting a Wii U day 1 because its nintendo's next system and i cant play mario anywhere else and the controller. being able to keep playing your game while you get kicked off the tv will be great.

They couldn't give out information on games without giving out information on the system. The games will of course have features unique to the hardware, so they go hand in hand. The only way they could keep quite about one is to keep quite about the other.

While I am very excited about the WiiU, I'm lucky that I'm very patient. I guess raising 2 kids can do that, lol. I can wait till E3 and just sit back and absorb all the info. I mean, don't get me wrong, I'd love to hear everything about it now. It just doesn't bother me if I don't.

When you watch the video where Reggie says that, it was clearly him "just saying that". I'm surprised the media picked up on that delivered it as a fact. It was more of a passing statement he made, he wasn't really thinking about it. It was a lie when he said it - a typical Nintendo one too. The "steady" info is more like "very little info.". We'll find out everything at E3 (or the week leading up to it with leaks and whatnot).

As for the topic, I like it being all built up. Makes E3 that much more funner.

The statement "steady info" has no real meaning, its political BS so to say. So its not a lie, its just something that you can take whatever meaning you want from it. The small tidbits about developers, middleware etc being signed on the Wii U, would technically fit that. The media of course sells it as something big to generate traffic of course and some readers take it as something bigger than it should be.

I think Nintendo clearly wants to surprise us, which they cant do if they give out too much info before E3. Besides, thanks to Nintendo Direct, Nintendo now has an easier way to release info whenever they want, they no longer have to wait till some game/electronic exbo inorder to release information. I think Nintendo might release a little bit of information regarding the Wii U during their next Nintendo Direct video.

A lie is when you're dilibrately saying something false to deceive. It's not a bad lie, but a lie nonetheless. We're not going to get a steady flow of info. and he knows that, and only said it just to keep the public aware.

We're arguing semantics, but like I said, its not a lie. Deception is not the same thing as a lie, a lie is blatantly false information, what he said was so general that it cant be false information. I can deceive you and tell you the truth at the same time.

I'd rather they keep quiet until E3. The system won't be coming out until at least the holiday season, no reason to go giving details so early.

It would kind of ruin the fun of the show if we knew anything before hand, especially about a next-gen console.
