Could be a price reduction or a bundle for Wii U. I almost doubt that Nintendo is hiding something this holiday. Maybe before the release of PS4 Xbone.

They aren't.
Mario Kart and Smash Bros are likely to be out in the first half of 2014, question is what they have after that.
Their new console is failing, they have no games, they're hemorrhaging money, and their handheld can't do it all by itself
Why on Earth would Nintendo hide anything at this point?
Where is the advantage?
Jaysonguy
Do you have to bash their system in every forum? I was asking if they are welling to introduce another price reduction or new bundles which gives it an adge against their competitors. And yes Wii U can compete at this stage. They have great exclusives

Do I have to be honest? Yes
If that hurts your feelings I apologize
No, you asked if they're hiding something, because again, holding back now makes what sense exactly?
Their edge has been needed for the last year, they don't have an edge they have a very dull butter knife

Didn't ask you to share your honest opinion on their system. If you can't understand my question and throw irrelevant answers, well then it's your problem

ps4 has the only chance of beating the wiiu. and steambox might eat away at their sales even more than microsoft this gen.
Don't really care about either of those, Nintendo could have had an awesome holiday lineup and continue to fumble to ball. Highly doubt the big titles for next year will be on time either.[QUOTE="KBFloYd"][QUOTE="TxTech1923"]Yeah, their faces In shame.TxTech1923

this holiday has too many games on both 3ds and wiiU
zelda link between worlds/sonic lost world/pokemon xy/mario sonic olympics/wiifit/wii sports club/mario 3d world/batman origins+blackgate/asasins creed 4/call of duty ghosts/bravely default(europe)/watchdogs
all in a span of 2 months? Â its too much txtech.

True, I just wish they'd delayed something I don't give a crap about instead of the game I purchased the console for :PSuper Mario 3D World is underhyped in my opinion. It is a game that mixes the advantages of multiplayer madness from NSMB, the timeless structure of Super Mario World, the creativity of SMG, and its own news genre defining twists. This game could be as significant to the progression of the video game medium as GTAV.
Â
I hope Nintendo realizes they need a new feature, a price drop, or software that will actually excite consumers across the board enough for them to pay attention to Wii U for more than 5 seconds. Wii U as of right now is just a forgettable product. Most of its software doesn't take advantage of its defining feature, which was implemented in replacement to features that would have made for a much more capable, reliable, and effective platform. Their biggest focus and most of their resources seem to be going to a game that couldn't boost the GC and now they think it will as a remake with even less potential buyers.
Â
There is a long list of things Nintendo could do that would immediately start creating buzz for Wii U and we all know it will never change or it will take them so long to change that its too late unless you are really keyed into Nintendo happenings.

they already had a price cut and new bundle with a zelda game. this has boosted sales in the west for now...they are releasing party and wiifit bundles in japan to boost sales over there in japan.
they have actually spent some money and advertised windwaker somewhat here in usa...im sure it will sell well...especially for a remake.
this holiday we need to see just as many tv commercials for nintendo as we see for the ps4...and xbox one needs to get on track to..xbox has done no advertising either.

I dont know if they timed their price cut accordingly because that would have stood out much better closer to the release of the two other major competitors. But hey Nintendo knows how to sell consoles better than me. I am certain WW will sell well for a remake. If they had any common sense at all they would drop the price to $199 before the PS4 and Xbone release. Â That would actually move some units. Â Nobody is going to touch it at its current price though.

So they just cut the price why exactly?
+1 I do not understand, at all, why there is not more interest in this game, or why the gaming public/Nintendo fan was disappointed that this wasn't SMG3.Super Mario 3D World is underhyped in my opinion. You'd be even more pissed off if the reason for holding back is not because its not finish but to spread out their launch so it looks like they have more games in 2014, that could also mean games that were said to be coming in 2014 will be delayed till later/2015.... *yes tinfoil hat* :PThey were hiding the fact that DK wasn't ready and then finally delayed a 2nd time. I'm a little pissed off about that.
yokofox33
@TC - no they can't afford to hide anything atm..it should be go go go! for them.

to stay competitive. they are not afraid but they arent stupid either. thats why they only cut it 50$.

So what you're saying is that they feared their ability to stay competitive
Because that's the opposite that you said up there, which one is it?
I don't thin there will be any new game surprises or anything. Â I think there's a good chance of some high profile VC games releasing before Christmas and probably some kind of digital sales. Â We'll probably get a different bundle with either Mario game. I think DK would have helped but the lineup is strong enough for the rest of the year. Â The other next gen systems will probably mostly sell to the faithful Playstation and XBOX people with money just like the Wii U has done early on. Â I don't think either of those systems will go mainstream until the price drops a lot or a bunch of good exclusives come out. Â The Wii U is barely in the affordable range by itself. I think the best things NIntendo could do now is actually advertise the system. I brought mine to work the other day and let people try it out (off tv-play only as we dont' have a TV there) and everyone was impressed, although almost all of them said " What's a Wii U?" That needs to change.

no fear...just staying competitive.....its only after ps4 orx1 actually sell..thats when the fear will come in.
They just decided to stop "hiding" Wii Sports Club and the fact that Wii Fit U will be practically free.
They also are "hiding" a New Super Mario Bros U + New Super Luigi U system bundle, plus a Wii U Party bundle that have been leaked already.
What you did by bringing Wii U to work is great. Wii U is a great system. I knew I wanted to buy it some time, buy couldn't wait any longer after I've tried mario at a a gaming retail. It was great seeing mario in 1080p. You are correct. People should try out Wii U. The problem is here on the Internet. People or I'd rather say brain washed kids by COD GTA games like are making Wii U sounds bad.I don't thin there will be any new game surprises or anything. [QUOTE="AtelierFan"][QUOTE="thedude-"]+1 I do not understand, at all, why there is not more interest in this game, or why the gaming public/Nintendo fan was disappointed that this wasn't SMG3. If Nintendo had shown last week's Direct trailer at E3 I'm sure the interest would be far more widespread. Sure the Internet is albaze now with hype for the game after seeing the trailer but we only represent a portion of the buying public, E3 is the closest thing to a mainstream video game presentation for mass audiences that we've got. The new Mario World 3D trailer on Nintendo's Youtube channel got over 300,000 views which is certainly good but hardly going to be numbers that equal the amount of buyers that most games need to make profit. But I'm not really worried, it's a Mario platformer which practically makes it guaranteed to do good in sales. New Super Mario Bros. U is still the best-selling Wii U game so far IIRC. Its underrated, don't know why. Maybe because SMG is so much more grand in scale. At least that is the presentation of it. i love how everyone goes to bashing nintendo in a heart beat first of all wiiu isnt going to fail its already past that point ,
vb wil l remain the only failure nintendo has made , you can bet on that
regardless of which sells more be it the x1 ps4 ,, or the wiiu ,, the wiiu remains relevent because of the top notch first party titles available on it , and everyone can agree that even if third party were to fully support the freakin thing like they did w snes and to an extent the wii , you wont see people supporting third party efforts because nintendos efforts always were better, and the launch proves that, seriously , wiiu had so much third party support at launch that wii did not get yet people still didnt buy their games
its not nintendos fault people only buy nintendo games , , its everyones decision , , that being said i bought my wiiu day one for games and thats what i have over 50 vc and download and 20 retail
They could have something in the pipes for the VC, (getting the N64 back on there with some games not on the Wii N64 VC would be a real treat) but I have a hard time imagining much of anything else. I'd appreciate them having Wii U games as Club Nintendo rewards in the near future as well, to be sure.
even if they do, it won't matter. they aren't the new system on the market. until after christmas, people won't want it unless the ps3/XB1 are hard to find.

ps4 and xbox1 will sell well in november...but i think the ps3, xbox 360 and wiiU will outsell them in december because they are much cheaper.
