I think that it will it be better, but what do you think? Will it be the same? A dissapointment?

I don't think it will be as good, mainly, because it is a sequel. I doubt that I will get that feeling of amazement as I got when playing Galaxy.
Still think that it will be great, though.
It'll pretty much be a bigger, better SMG...but it won't score as high as the original due to the more of the same factor. It'll still probably average AAA though.

This. I wouldn't be surprised at a 9.0, which is less than the original, but still extremely good. :P I do think that I will end up liking it more, even though it won't feel as original as the first one. All they really need to do with this one to make it stand out as a AAA game is come up with great ideas for the levels, so that it makes up for the fact that it is rehashing the Galaxy idea. But a few other things that it do that would make it even better than the first one:
-Difficulty. According to Reggie, this is supposed to be one of the big changes from the original ones, and if that's true then I'm looking forward to seeing how it turns out.
-Use the items better. Some of the items in the first one were used quite well, while others were almost completely ignored (red star). If they can come up with more items, and use them well enough (and use old items in interesting new ways as well), then it will be that much better. And I'm counting Yoshi as an item. :P
-Bigger worlds. I do want them to keep the smaller worlds as well, and mix it up. But there definitely could be more bigger worlds than the first one had.
Either way, I can't wait to see how it all turns out, especially since the first one was the best game that I've played so far thisgen.
It already looks better than the first one. They said it was going to be more challenging, we know it has Yoshi, and there seems to be some more open-ended levels. Plus, new items. What's not to like?
It will be better in every single way, but it will not get as high of scores, because it is the sequel, and people will feel like they have "been there, done that". Anyway, it will still be amazing, and i can't wait

People shouldn't think 'been there, done that' because it will be very different according to nintendo. 90% of the levels are different, and the one's that are the same will have different objectives. It also has yoshi. I hope they have Luigi, and use the items better because they hardly used the red star, and flying is fun!! :P Anyway, I know it will be amazing!!

if you ask me 100% of the levels should be different. They can keep the hub world or whatever but they shouldn't recycle old levelsIt will no doubt be a great game, but I think it will be too similar to be better than the original. Critically, it will be worse because it's more of the same and probably won't bring enough new ideas/content to the table. I would hazard a metascore guess of around 92.

No, they will say "been there done that" for the whole gravity thing. Going upside down on a level this time around, won't be like doing it for the first time in SMG. That is where SMG2 won't be as amazing (score wise) as the first[QUOTE="psychobrew"]
If they get rid of the waggle, 2 will be much better.

It's not like you had to do it constantly and it responded quickly in-game.IMO it looks like it will be better for me. I like how Reggie stated that this game will have a "more difficult edge for the more core Mario fans", and I actually enjoyed the Story and atmosphere of SMG so I would love to see a sequel. Not to mention, Yoshi will own. I can see critics rating this slightly lower for using the SMG engine and not making a whole new Mario adventure, but again those things aren't very significant to me personally.
when i save again i will turn it off and tell y......................wait the game is not out yet, how the hell am i supposed to know.

The response timewasn't all that fast for me,which is one reason why I lost interest in the game. There were also a few spots where it seemed like youwere turbo waggling.
I wonder if Rosalina is going to reappear again. I have this strange feeling that we might end up seeing a veiled clone character of her instead, but I doubt that will happen. From the looks of things, it appears they're going with Bowser again. Okay, Bowser's awesome, but it still would be nice to see someone else for the sequel. After all, Zelda at least has several games without Ganon as the main villain.
Wasn't that referring to the story, which he claimed got in the way of the game's focus on the platforming? Eh, I actually enjoyed seeing the story elements in the game as they made it feel more special, and apparently other members of the Galaxy staff share that sentiment.

GOTY=WaggleSound ok ;)
GOTY is someones opinion.I think it will just feel like a sequel...almost all games feel like that. The only game i can think of that didn't feel like a direct sequal was Jak and Daxter to Jak II...If you know those two you would know why!
I think it will be very fun, but the video looks very similar to what's in Galaxy just with Yoshi. I think it'll be awesome, since Galaxy is awesome, but I'm disappointed that it's Galaxy 2. No Mario game has really been a direct sequel to the one before it, they've all been unique. Still, they said 90% of the game is new, so hopefully there are some zany ass levels created for the game with some new items (TANOOKI SUIT PLEASE!). If they can do some really creative things that differ from the first Galaxy it'll be just as good, if not better. But if they give us levels that could have fit in with the first one, and only a few new suits, then it'll be great fun, but not as good as the original.
Regardless of how good it ends up being though, it won't ever be as significant as the first Galaxy for reasons I don't even have to state since they're so blatantly obvious.

I heard from some thing that he acctually said 90% new levels...
BTW...are the graphics in Galaxy 2 better? I can't tell. You would expect them to be. Or are they the same?

After making SMG, they had some ideas left over from it. They were going to take those ideas, and make it into a SMG 1.5. Whent hey started making that, they started to come up with more an more ideas. So basically, 10% of this game are the original left-over ideas from the first game. Those levels will be new to us, but are old to them. The other 90% is completely new, as in the levels they came up with when working on the original SMG 1.5 idea.
So to them, it's only 90% new, but to us, it's 100% new.
i was wondering something. mario and luigi played very differently in the first game. luigi had all that higher/longer-jumps-and-less-traction-than-mario thing he's known for since super mario bros. 2. so, my question is, if luigi actually makes his way into the sequel as well, how are they going to make him feel any different than mario while they ride a yoshi? this is by no means a problem that i'm foreseeing. it's just something that came to mind and made me curious. :P
