I sure wouldn't care for FFV as much as I would for FFVI (FFVI has a way better story) but it might be fun and all.
What do you think?
Oh and 3D kefka FTW!!

I was just looking for this!
I hope so, but In the meantime i'm going to buy the original versions of V and VI, but if they come out with remakes I'm getthign thsoe to.
Maybe five will come out when I get aroudn to the FF series and then I can buy IV for 20 bucks!
I wouldn't put it past me, but if they do one of them they would have to do the other even though VI does deserve more glory in my opinion. They do need to be TRULY remade.I agree, they would not just skip one. You will get both or nothing I'm afraid. Wait, thats a good thing!
We'll see if Square-Enix does but they are pretty busy atm. Lots of games!.

I really don't think FFVI will be remade even though I'd like it to. The sprite work in FFVI is revolutionary, almost like Chrono Trigger. So I see Square Enix going the cheap route and port a "enhanced" version of FFVI with extra stuff we don't care about.
If you compare the graphics between the FFIV and V with VI, it's significant. I don't think we'll see FFVI remade with the 3D engine.
So I just bought the GBA version recently so that I won't miss out on it.
It would seem kind of silly, considering you can already play their GBA re-releases on your DS.I've still seen quite a few stores holding new copies of Final Fantasy VI Advance.VGobbsesser
You can also get FF 3 and 4 for the GBA. However those are just enhanced ports. The DS versions are complete remakes.

I think when he posted '3', he meant 6.( The actual FF 3 was Japan only back in the day. The third FF released in the US, was FF 6 from Japan... I know it's confusing)

Actually I just goofed. 3 wasn't released on the GBA. However 4 was.
i hope they keep going 5, 6, 7, and 8 because i personally think that FFVIII is the greatest game ever made.ThadCarlson
Well, 7 remade on DS would most likely be a port, and I'm not sure if DS could do 8 graphically. I've been playing FFIV recently and that does actually look pretty good. As an owner of both a DS and a PSP, I'd rather see FF6 remade for PSP using the crisis core engine. I'd be fine with it being released on DS though. FF7, if it ever did get remade for a handheld, I'd imagine it'd be done on PSP as they already have models for some of the characters and quite a few areas.
[QUOTE="frostybro24"]Easy money really, but at least they're introducing new gamers to some classic titles.yes. Sqare enix makes almost only remakes nowadays

May be easy money but I wonder how long se can keep this up and keep the fans interested. Remakes are fine and dandy but it can only last for so long. I hope se does a remake of ff 6 because it is my favorite game of the series.

Mine too.
Well since they have already remaked FFIII and FFIV then there is a high chance they would!! (and i dont give a damn about FFV i want FFVI!!):)

It would surprise me a great deal if they ported FFVII or VIII because the DS cartridges only hold about 100 megbytes. FFVII was on 3 CDs, that roughly equals 2 gigs. So that means it would have to be spread over 20 cartridges. I'm not sure how much of that 2gigs are movie files. So it's difficult to say how much they can downsize FF7 for the sake of fitting it on a DS cartridge.
Definatly more plausible on the PSP, though, I have a PSP & a DS, and I would say that the DS is the better machine (In my opinion). So it's a bit disappointing.
Still I can't be disappointed long, because we still have Dragon Quest V & VI on the way! :P
