Not even close. OoT is way better. If you really just like the overhead style of PH and ST, then you should get A Link to the Past. I can never decide which is the better game between OoT and LP. OoT is probably the better game, but I played LP when I was like 12 years old and it just blew me away. It was during the golden age of my gaming (SNES).

Honestly, I had more fun playing PH and ST than I did with OoT3D. PH and ST are not my favorite Zelda games, but both offer completely unique experiences. I'm also one of those few people who enjoyed the stylus controls and didn't mind (much) the central dungeons or the modes of transportation. OoT is a great game, but there's a limit on the amount of times you can play the same game before getting bored of it. I do agree that OoT3D is the superior version of OoT, but it felt too much like the original for its price. Most of my enjoyment came from Master Quest, but it wasn't enough for me to absolutely fall in love with this remake. Having to beat the normal mode, which was basically OoT with better graphics, to unlock Master Quest ruined the experience for me.
TL;DR: If OoT3D felt more like a remake and less like an enhanced port with Master Quest, and gave me the option to start Master Quest from the start, I would have enjoyed it more than PH and ST.

Yes. I think many people are having their nostalgia glasses on when comparing the OoT. I recently beat ocarina of time for the first time and I found the controls to be incredibly twitchy at times especially with locking on enemies and getting hit by them. Many aspects of the game seemed very unpolished too. Some characters were very memorable like the Zora king and princess but most of the other characters were very underdeveloped.
Zelda PH and ST were incredibly polished with tight controls and addicting dungeons. The temple of the ocean king was a bit annoying but the rest of game had new surprises and had an amazing atmosphere even if it was on DS.
[QUOTE="spike6958"]No, PH and ST are the only Zelda games that OoT is better than.StatusShufflelol.
What? OoT is crap compared to pretty much every other game in the series, aside from the 2 DS games. The ONLY reason it gets so much, undeserved, respect is because it was the first 3D Zelda, that's it. I've never once been given a legitimate reason why it's better than any other game in the series, because it's not. The art style is ugly, the story is boring, the overworld is dead, the dungeons are repetitive, the villain's an idiot, the characters are annoying (and I'm not just talking about the Owl). It's not a terrible game when talking of games in general, but it's one of the worst in the Zelda series.

I just played OOT on the 3ds for the first time and it's my favorite zelda game......so don't just say people like it for nostalgia and it being the first 3d zelda.lol.[QUOTE="StatusShuffle"][QUOTE="spike6958"]No, PH and ST are the only Zelda games that OoT is better than.spike6958

I'm sorry but your a complete idiot. You can't put a score on the story that's a mtter of opinion. To me the story is epic, and the art style is my favorite of all the series. What do you say to that? Are you gonna tell me I have bad tastes?
You talk as if OoT 3DS's entire merit comes solely from the few tweaks it underwent in its transition to the 3DS. It's still OoT. And it's madness to consider the DS titles better games than OoT.*Flame Shield On*

Even if it's still OoT, I was annoyed because I couldn't start Master Quest from the start, the normal quest lacked new content, the combat was still clunky, and the save system was still dated. These annoyances hindered my experience with the remake which is why I had more fun playing PH and ST.

Yes, quite frankly, I will. Just as I have told the one person in real life I know who thinks OoT is the best Zelda game, you're a nostalgia drunk fool. As I said, as a stand alone game it's fine, but when put against the rest of the Zelda series, it cannot compare to the likes of the original LoZ, ALttP, Wind Waker or Twilight Princess. You're not exactly right.

No one is right or wrong. We all experience games differently, some enjoy them more than others. I enjoyed PH and ST more than OoT3D. Simple as that. I already gave my reasons and I don't need to repeat myself.
any zelda game is better then the two on the dselbert_b_23This. I actually tried playing Spirit Tracks just yesterday, and the control scheme felt so unnatural. Bless 'em for trying, but neither game is very easy to pick-up and play. With that being said, Phantom Hourglass is infinitely superior to Spirit Tracks.

ST is longer,harder,and better.

Eh, the main reason I didn't mention Majora's Mask is because, while I do believe it's a much better game than OoT, for me it suffers from many of the same problems that OoT does.
It's recycles the graphics/art style, which I really do hate (both games just look ugly, even back when they first launched), the dungeons are again pretty boring (with the exception of the Stone Tower Temple, which is amazing), but my biggest problem with Majora's Mask is that Majora isn't an interesting Villain.
The Skull Kid is, I loved learning his backstory, but he was never the villain, he's just a kid who Majora used. Same with the Moon, the threat of the Moon falling and killing everyone, was awesome and was made even better by the fact that the NPC's are probably the best any Zelda game has had (though the timelimit also helped with that because it made it so they could react differently depending on how each 3day cycle played out). But all that falls apart for me when there was never really any explination of who Majora was and why she was doing any of this. Now don't get me wrong, I love to have villains that are wrapped in mystery, but usually as you progress though the game you find out a bit more about who they are, and why they want to do what there doing, with Majora you got a tiny ammount of info stating that she was used in Hexing rituals and was hidden away because the "ancient ones"feared it, but then we're told nothing more, which is really dissapointing when you think about how much detail they put into characters that, to be honest, didn't matter.

It was more refreshing and better than PH.
The items and the bosses were fun.

Those two were some of the WORST Zeldas I ever played. Hell, I'd even play A Link to the Past or Link's Awakening before I ever touch those two Zeldas again.JustPlainLucasUm, do you think a link to the past is bad? It's the best zelda IMO, and is probably my all time favorite game.
Spirit Tracks is about the only Zelda game that's worse than OoT. Neither one is close to the others, including PH.
No....no no no no.....NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!
I'll take OoT open world, how Zelda should be IMO, over Spirit Tracks trains and Phantom Hourglasses sailing (....ugh PH sailing was such a nuisance looking back at it) any day....
Both had more unique dungeon and gameplay than OoT, but I still enjoyed OoT a hell of a lot more...
