I know nintendo said that its up to the developer to implement an achievement system but im just wondering if any developer actually chose to do that? Especially the multiplatform games like batman and assassin's creed III, games that already have achievements for other platforms. Im just wondering if those are somehow present in the Wii U versions?

Nintendo Land has hidden "badges" that are somewhat like achievements. Each stage has 5 badges. If someone clicks on your character in their world, they can see stats about your progress in the game, including the badges you have obtained. Other than that, Wii U games do not have achievements. The Miiverse profiles don't have a place for achievements.

I would imagine that Super Smash Bros. 4 would be like Melee & Brawl, but that's just guessing though.

Nintendos achievements are getting star levels for for collecting star coins. Hidden heart pieces or missile expansions. Not a virtual trophy telling you you just collected all the star coins. Trophies are a waste of devs time that should be put into making more actual content. And don't say it adds replay because any good game will add replay on its own, meaning you will want to play it. I don't heed a trophy saying u just got 150 head shots with my shotgun.

Well i mean its not just because they add replay value but it just adds plain old fun to it. With the 360 it's extremely fun competeing for the higher gamerscore with my friends. But i do agree with what you say about Nintendos achievements, heart pieces, and stars. Those are achievements in themselves. But i was hoping for something like Brawl, it had a good way of going about an achievement system and i hope more Wii U games has those types of things in the future. Btw just so you know achievements probably come last in developers eyes, so its the developers taking what they already made and just adding to it. But alas its a give or take topic, some people care some dont its as simple as that.

Ubisoft games like ZombiU have a type of Achievments. UPlay is what its called. Doing things in game unlocks stuff via UPlay. For example unlocking different title screens or skins for you cricket bat in ZombiU.

RE Revelations and Your Shape have achievements, and some others too, but is a local thing for each game in most cases.

THIS!

An example, I have over 200hrs into Mass Effect 3. Played it over and over. Not for achievements, but because the game is good(my opinion). I've been replaying both the GC and Wii versions of Twilight Princess - no achievement incentive. Achievements add no value.
