I'm not even the biggest Zelda geek out there, but I seem to be the only person I know of who does this. Not only do I audibly sing out the various "Zelda chimes" at designated times, I'm actually mindful of which ones to use when. Simply uttering the classic "Da na na na" as a substitute for "Ta Da!" doesn't cut it, and I will correct you if try to steal my thunder. :)
- The iconic "item get", is to be used whenever you obtain something, be it an in-store purchase or something you've been looking for.
- The "opening a a chest" theme from the 3D games can be a nice build-up for the "item get" while opening a long-awaited package or unwrapping a present. It does require a bit of timing, but its worth it.
- The "solving a puzzle" bit makes for a perfect mini-celebration whenever you've accomplished a confusing task, like say, dissecting and fixing your PC, home theater set-up, automobile or random appliance.
- The short "Rupee" sound effect from the original LOZ is appropriate when picking up change on the ground, or in lieu of the old "cha-ching" noise for any financial transaction in which you're the profiteer.
- The "Heartpiece get" is cute when you want to indicate that you're flattered over something. You'd better have a really nerdy/understanding significant other for this one.
So yeah, I'm wondering if there are any fellow Zelda-chimers out there, and/or any suggestions for how my system to could be added to or improved upon.
God I'm a loser. :D
